Former Republican state Sen. Joe Heck is seriously considering dropping out of the governors race to challenge Democratic Rep. Dina Titus for Southern Nevadas congressional seat in Washington.
According to conservative activist Chuch Muths news service, Heck attended a meeting in Las Vegas on Monday called by fellow Republican John Guedry, who announced last week he was dropping out of the race, and was encouraged to run.
Heck is expected to decide whether hes in by the end of the week, the report said.

I hope Heck runs.
Is he going to ask www.goooh.com to assist him?
Does he have a FaceBook page?
The Internet is where it’s at and where candidates can keep in touch with their constituents and with other US Citizens.
He’s thinking of switching races. He’s made no final decision yet, though one is expected soon.
“Dina Titus”....sounds like a porn star or a stripper. Of course it is Nevada....
I can just see the headlines:
“Republicans can win if the undecideds all go to Heck”
He probably entered the governor’s race against the damaged RINO Gibbons before Judge Sandoval announced his intention to run. Staying in the gubernatorial race would only help Gibbons (not that Gibbons has a real chance of beating Sandoval in the primary).
We need a strong candidate against Titus in the slightly Dem-leaning NV-03, and I hope that Heck runs.
Getting rid of Titus and Reid would make for a "Heck" of a celebration!
It’s official, Joe Heck will run against Dina Titus.

Recruiting is going much better than in the last two election cycles.
Here's Joe holding my sign at the Las Vegas Tea Party.
FWIW, I asked him if he agreed with what was written on it, he said "I can get behind that"
With the debate on health care, electing an MD to Congress would give Republicans and conservatives more credibility on that issue.
Right now, Nov. 2010 seems like an eternity, especially in view of what has transpired just in the last 8+ months.
I shudder to think what things are going to be like this time next year :(
Here’s more Nevada news.
This is good. A candidate was needed after the prized recruit in that district dropped out. And we don’t need the anti-gibbons vote in the gubernatorial primary to be split.
You’re both here in Nevada?
Reno.
Now we just need the other gubernatorial candidate—the mayor of North Las Vegas, who’s polling in single digits—to drop out of the race and ensure that the anti-Gibbons vote isn’t split at all and Judge Sandoval can get rid of Gibbons. He could always run against Congresswoman Berkeley, although that’s a really, really tough race to win (although perhaps not much more difficult than being elected mayor of North Las Vegas as a Republican (How in the world does North Las Vegas have a GOP mayor? Did the Dems split like in Lawrence, MA?).
Montandon has been the Mayor of North Las Vegas for 12 years. However, someone told me he may be a Reid stooge within the GOP. Might very well be that he wants to insure Gibbons is renominated, and then he loses to any Dem running (with Dingy Harry wanting to install his spawn Rory in Carson City).
