Tennessee: GOP's Ramsey says he's unsure of Obama citizenship
The Chattanooga Times Free Press / The Associated Press ^ | February 2, 2010 | Erik Schelzig

State Senate speaker and gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey said Tuesday he doesn't know whether President Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen, but that it's not an issue that voters care about.

Ramsey was asked after a speech to a Republican group about his views on the president's citizenship by Maclin Davis, a former state lawmaker and attorney for the state GOP.

"I don't know whether President Obama is a citizen of the United States or not," Ramsey responded. "I don't know what the whole deal is there.

"But I'm going to tell you something. When you walk out on the street down here, people don't really care about this issue."

Focusing on issues like the president's citizenship distracts from the Republican message on jobs, education and fiscal conservatism, Ramsey said.

"When we get off on sidelines like that, that's when people say 'aw,' they close their ears and don't listen," Ramsey said. "I'm not saying you're not right, Mac, I'm not saying you're not right — but that's not how you win elections."

State Democratic Party Chairman Chip Forrester was quick to denounce Ramsey's comments.

"Ramsey would rather pander to a far-right wing group of conspiracy theorists than govern in a pragmatic approach that most Tennesseans expect from their political leaders," Forrester said in a release. "Why in the world would Mr. Ramsey even entertain such a ludicrous idea when our state is facing tough times?"

Ramsey's main opponents in the GOP primary include U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp of Chattanooga, Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Memphis prosecutor Bill Gibbons. None could immediately be reached for reaction to Ramsey's comments.

Theories that Obama was born abroad abounded during the presidential campaign, even after an official Hawaii birth certificate was produced, along with August 1961 birth notices from two Honolulu newspapers.(continued)

I doubt Ron Ramsey is familiar with the intricacies of US citizenship law so his opinion is probably not worth anything to either side.

Aren't at least 2 of the lawyers leading this charge Democrats? Hillary supporters to be exact?

I thought the trial to require proof of citizenship was to begin on Jan. 26. Has anyone heard anything about it?

Well skippy, why don't you personally ask Obama?

If you're talking about the case before Judge Carter, he dismissed it.

It’s a scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Specifically, the end where the Ark is “bagged and tagged” and put in a warehouse.

I don’t know about the “people don’t care” part.

And if more people knew what we know here, many of them would indeed care!

It sounds as if Mr. Ramsey would throw the Constitution away if he thought it would win him an election. That’s an oddly Democrat sentiment.

Ramsey is an idiot. Does he realize there's a Dem memo out there to split Republicans with the birth certificate issue?

Just say "no comment" to this crap and talk about what matters.

Its Ludicrous and Obscene that a President of the United States Hates AMERICA SO MUCH!! That he is embaressed to show his very own Legal Birth Certificate because he is Horrified that it would Prove the Jerk was Born in the United States, the Country that the rest of Us LOVE with All of Our Hearts!!!!!!!!! It is Pathetic that the JERK would spend well over TWO MILLION DOLLARS to HIDE HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE THAT WOULD PROVE HE WAS BORN IN THE GREATEST NATION EVER CREATED ON PLANET EARTH IN ALL OF ITS BILLIONS OF YEARS OF EXISTENCE!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS JERK THAT HE CONTINUES TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO HIDE HIS PROUD BIRTHRIGHT!!! WAKE UP, AMERICA!! This JERK is a LIAR and a FRAUD!!*

* My Apologies for being so wimpy in expressing my beliefs!

Dan Rather sacrificed his career pimping forged documents, lost a subsequent lawsuit againt the Communist Broadcasting System CBS, and we all were presented for 8 years with non-stop state owned media coverage of every detail of Bush’s life, his school records, Air National Guard records, police files, IRS files, health records, his children, his siblings, and hostile interviews with anyone and everyone that could claim to have known Bush and conveniently hated him.

That was then and this is now.

No one is reading anything about Obama because his handlers have buried all the information that was paraded before the press with Bush.

There is an unauthorized biography of Obama that was released in October of 2008 but no one has likely seen it. It is copiously footnoted and referenced. The author comes across as an equal opportunity hater—he hates Bush as much as he hates the usurper. As far as I can tell the author hates everyone. Oh well.

If amyone cares to wade through this here is the link. It is free.
http://siob.eu/evidence/Webster%20Griffin%20Tarpley%20-%20Barack%20H%20Obama%20-%20The%20Unauthorized%20Biography.pdf

THe summary of the entire volume is that Obama is a wholly owned and directed asset of all the boogeymen who comprise the CFR, Bilderbergers, Club of Rome, Tri-lateral Commission et al. And that the powers that be own and control both parties—anyone that doesn’t realize that already is either stupid or asleep.

Oh and exposes the tax free foundations Ford, Carnegie, Mellon etc that were taken over by the Left decades ago.

He makes a compelling and exceptionally well-documented case.

It does provide a rationale other than criminal stupidity to explain why the usurper is the way he is and is doing the things he has done and will continue to do as a radical Left Wing ideologue, who in fact, along with his wife, Auntie Esther, viscerally hate America and especially really hate whites.

Check it out 650 pages.

Charles Hurt is an excellent writer for the NY Post...this jumped out at me while reading his column today:

Obama's got real trouble at home

"... Things are so bad that even in Obama's alleged birthplace of Hawaii, Republicans are seriously talking about winning the House seat being vacated by a Democrat who wants to run for governor.

The only place where Obama has roots that doesn't seem to be sick and tired of him these days is Kenya.

Don't be surprised if Republicans start fielding candidates there soon.

Wrong. He is a public figure with somewhat of an ear of the press. That makes him very valuable to whichever side might not be getting the exposure it needs. Right now, that side is the side questioning Obama's legitimacy.
