Mike Huckabee and 2012 (Jourbalists and Schmidt fawning over him, for now)
MSNBC ^ | June 21, 2010 | Mark Murray

Posted on 06/22/2010 8:32:04 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Like it or not, the 2012 presidential campaign season is already underway. Right now, we're in the nascent stage of the cycle where folks are asking: Will he/she run?

A new 8,300-word New Yorker profile asks that question of Mike Huckabee. Among the nuggets in the piece (some of which we had already heard):

-- Huckabee is now registered to vote in Florida, not his native Arkansas

-- He has gained weight since his '08 campaign days, though he doesn't weigh the 300-odd pounds he once weighed

-- Former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt says some VERY nice things about Huckabee.

In some ways, Huckabee seems like a promising candidate for 2012: a squeaky-clean family man and bona-fide Christian who loves to talk. His communication is folksy but fluid; he never seems flummoxed, like George W. Bush, or befuddled, like John McCain, or unprepared, like Sarah Palin. “If we’re running a race against their most articulate guy,” Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s former campaign manager, told me, referring to President Obama, “we should put our most articulate guy. Huckabee’s that guy.” Schmidt, who has traded barbs with Palin since the election, said, “There’s no one who really provides a better contrast to Sarah Palin, showing her as an entertainer instead of a serious thinker—and there’s not enough oxygen for both of them.”(continued)

The three easiest ways for used car salesmen to get power is
to become a preacher, go into politics or get a media gig.

I will not vote for Huckabee, ever... under ANY circumstance.

"Former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt says some VERY nice things about Huckabee. "

Schmidt would literally cut off his face if he could somehow spite Palin in the process. For all of Huckabee's faults (and they are plentiful), he's emphatically against gay marriage and gays in the military. What does Steve "I have a lesbian sister and am a closeted homosexual myself" Schmidt think about that?

>>What does Steve “I have a lesbian sister and am a closeted homosexual myself” Schmidt>>

Stevie hates Sarah Palin because he would love to wear her clothes to events.

In his world, Stevie is called a bit**

I'd prefer Cal Worthington and his dog Spot--with whom you're undoubtedly familiar if you've watched late-night network TV in Southern California over the past five or more decades.

"The huckster is a very annoying human being."

Many have short memory's. I don't. The Huckster and McCain gave us Obama. I'm no big Romney fan but I believe he would have been much better than the POS that now occupies The White House.

Huckabee, with his latest small, and I mean really small, comments has removed any doubt that he is a failed Christian, a failed Preacher, and now a failed Presidential Candidate before the primaries have even begun

Remember this? “Hi friends, Ralph Williams, Ralph Williams Ford.” Or Hobo Kelly? Sheriff John and Dimaggio carrots?

So true.”Pastor” Mike is a nasty, mean, and jealous guy. I’d like to see Rick Warren give “pastor” Mike the same type of interrogation he gave Obama and McCain in 2008. If fox news would’ve replayed the Warren v. Obama interview there might have been a different election result. I’d love to see the look on Huck’s face when Warren camped out on the subject of resentment and jealousy and asked him question after detailed question about who Huckabee resents and who he’s jealous of. And yes, Huckabee is Lonesome Rhodes or president Logan from 24.

Not to mention a failed “endorser.” So far, every candidate he’s endorsed in 2010 has LOST.

I ran this through my trusty MSNBC translator and it comes up with:

"Please, please, please, PLEASE nominate Huckabee, Republicans. Please."

When people who hate you and think you're the devil start praising one of you, the red flags should start going up big time.

Sure do. I was one of Sheriff John's Lunch Brigaders. I also remember Bob Yeakel, "the Lucky Dutchman," an auto dealer who sponsored Sunday afternoon auto races, exhorting viewers to "just get off that couch--don't stumble over the kids" and come down to his dealership. The Lucky Dutchman's luck ran out in November, 1960, when his plane crashed while trying to make an emergency landing on the San Bernardino Freeway, killing him and most of his family.

As a little preschool tike I’d eat my lunch on a TV tray whilst watching him. Hobo Kelly, as you may remember, was a lady.
