Clark vs. Bachmann: This race is red hot (Lots of Money Being Raised...!)
Minneapolis StarTribune (aka The Red Star) ^ | 7/07/10 | Eric Roper - Staff Reporter

Money is surging through the election battle between U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann and her Democratic challenger, Tarryl Clark, who reported totals on Wednesday that eclipse previous state fundraising records for a U.S. House race.

Clark, a state senator, said she had raised a whopping $910,000 since April in her effort to unseat Bachmann, the Stillwater Republican who has become a conservative favorite nationally.

Bachmann countered Clark's news with an even bigger bombshell: She had piled up $1.7 million in the same three-month period.

The tallies set a new high-water mark for Minnesota U.S. House races and offer further proof that the conservative-leaning Sixth District just north of the Twin Cities is the subject of immense national attention.

Bachmann's new numbers push her total fundraising over $4.1 million for this election cycle. That's more than any U.S. House candidate in Minnesota history has raised by the November election -- let alone by July.

Clark is also miles ahead of previous House challengers in Minnesota. In April she became the first non-incumbent House candidate in Minnesota to raise $1 million by the first filing period of the year. She is now the first to surpass $2 million by July.

Tarryl Clark is already on the air right now with an attack ad against Michele Bachmann. This ad is so questionable that even Pat Kessler (the political reporter for WDFL, I mean WCCO TV) has called it "misleading".

Folks, you already know this - but for those of you out there who don't - this is gonna be a barn-burner.

We need Michele Bachmann in Congress but I'm afraid that this race could turn into a financial black-hole where other worthy GOP candidates find that there's little or no money for their campaigns.

Comments or opinions - anyone?

We’ve already donated to Michelle, back in April. Will be sending more money her way in September.

When the RNC calls for donations, my husband and I politely decline. Our money is going to conservative candidates only. No RINO’s will get their cut.

I don’t see Clark as having a prayer, at this point. This is a pretty conservative district. Never thought I’d see a Senator Franken-stein either, though.

That's appalling.

Why would you be polite?

We need Michelle Bachman, Sharon Angle, Jan Brewer, Rand Paul, JD Heyworth, Michael Lee, Marco Rubio, Joe Wilson, Steve King.

These are the candidates who have shown us they are worthy of support, there are others but these are the best I’ve seen this year and the candidates the left has attacked the most.

Do not worry, it is over for the rat.

Considering the electoral slaughter that’s on it’s way this election, and also in MN, this contest won’t even register in the big picture.

“Do not worry, it is over for the rat.”

In 1996, I was convinced that there was no way that Bubba could get re-elected.

You have to take into account fraud and outright thievery, - things the Democratz excel at.

As much as I want McCain out, I’m feeling JD isn’t going to make it. A lot of attack ads from McCain, and he’s raised over twice as much money. Washington likes it’s Rino’s.

Is this really a problem? The dims have made this a target seat and Michelle still has twice the fund raising this period. I remember last cycle they shoveled money to the lib and he failed with Obummer coattails. The wind is behind the Rights back this time. Any polling?

“You have to take into account fraud and outright thievery”

this is exactly what they are banking on. Motor voter (ie illegal immigrant votes), the dead crawling out of their graves on vote day, every municipal and state worker bringing “a friend” to the polling places, and now, maybe we’ll have the Black Panthers out to guard a few polling places thanks to Eric Holder, not to mention union thugs all over on election day.

This is all par for the course here in Chicagoland, the rest of the nation is just going to have to learn how it works.

They were sick of “cowboy politics” and now they got “Chicago Thug Politics”. Welcome to the Daley Machine.

Sure....if you believe that this administration will even allow an election to occur in November!

Michelle needs to keep getting all the free air time she can on FOX and any other network she can. She needs to attend every TEA Party Rally that she can. She needs to work as if she’s down double digits in the polls. Her campaign manager needs to call every Talk-Radio Show Host in MN, once a week and offer to get Michelle on the Air.

WORK YOUR BUTT OFF AND KEEP PILING UP THOSE “FREE” AIR TIME SPOTS EVERY CHANCE YOU GET.

Are you talking about Rand Paul? I’m afraid that J.D. Hayworth isn’t going to make it. His TV Infomercials pimping free tax money for useless grants
has sunk him; I’m afraid. That not a wise-move for a nationally known Conservative. Poor guy must have needed money badly.
