Reader's view: Mothers believe in Palin’s message
The Duluth News Tribune ^ | August 15, 2010 | Shelley L. Tuttle

Posted on 08/15/2010 12:08:36 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

So what is it that’s motivating moms to “stampede” like “pink elephants” toward the Nov. 2 elections, as Washington Post Writers Group columnist Kathleen Parker wrote in the July 18 News Tribune (“Palin’s on her way to conquer, one woman at a time”)?

It’s all about the message.

The reason Sarah Palin resonates with moms across the U.S. is that deep in our hearts we believe in what she’s saying. Just visit the YouTube site bit.ly/akOoko, and you will see moms holding signs saying, “I love Sarah Palin because she loves my country,” “No government health care,” “Moms opposed to mandates unconstitutional,” and, “Annoy (a) liberal, work hard (and) pay your own bills.” The site also includes sound bites from Palin’s speeches, including, “We don’t like this fundamental transformation,” and, “No, (government takeover of health care and overreaching government programs aren’t) right for our kids and for our grandchildren,” and, “Respecting the will of the people.”

Sarah Palin is Everywoman who wants justice for our unborn daughters (and sons, for that matter). She is against government-mandated health care. Most of all, she loves our country, something woefully lacking in the present president.

Palin’s genius is the message! Her grizzly-bear image and cuteness mean nothing unless she has substance and a message that rings true to our hearts. Her message is in the same freedoms for our children and grandchildren that we have been enjoying.

Let’s have a show of hands for Nancy Pelosi if you think she’s the one who will bring our country around by offering bridges to nowhere, which she seems to be trying to construct everywhere, and by aspiring to get written up in the history books. Or will your hand go up for Palin, who cares deeply about our country and who is not willing to put its people under the bus for political gain?

She is going to win. I still fear those to whom she is loyal and who run her day to day operations and thus are likely to be her Administration.

We already had 12 years of Bush I and Bush II. We need someone who does have the intellectual understanding. And there is NO Reagan out there doing what Reagan did for 30 years before he ran and won.

So this is our best shot, I fear it will be too little, too weak, too late.

My wife has never cared about politics. Since Barack the Kenyan and his regime rose to power, she makes me look like a leftwinger. I was sitting in a Mexican restaurant the other day. There were three old ladies (70s and 80s) sitting at the table next to us. Their entire conversation was about Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly. They didn’t have anything nice to say about Barack the Kenyan. The ‘RATS are toast.

Just like Bush’s mishandling of the war (took him years to finally send sufficient troops) and the economy (spend, spend, spend) stirred the American pot into boiling discontent and set up the dinner table for the 2008 election of Obama - SO TOO, is the table now being set by OBAMA and the RATs for a PALIN victory in 2012.

My hand's up but not for Pelosi. It's up for Sarah Palin and for what she stand's for. And, you don't have to be female to understand who and what she is. I'm an old guy approaching his 74th birthday and damned well old enough and wise enough to see through the Pelosi lies and deceit.

Pretty on target I think. Anyone remember the old TV ad series with the tagline of “approved by Doctor Mom”? Moms have been the stabilizing force in families for years, and Sarah Palin knows this full well.

Of course Nancy Pelosi is a “mom” too, but she reminds people of a different kind of mom - the wheeler-dealer mom who puts her career first, never has time for her kids, and acts like Miss Bossypants at the PTA.

I think Palin’s message will resonate with voting moms who consider themselves Independent, who went for Obama last time. Of course she’s not running for anything ;-)

My wife used to be a hippie. Yesterday she urged me to buy a sh*tload of .22 LR. People are waking up to the fascism.

Same here. My wife asked if I’d buy her a gun. I started telling her about all of the nice “ladies’” guns that were out there. She told me, “I want a BIG gun!” Yikes! I’m looking at “The Judge”. They are legal here.

I like her her pro-life views, pioneer spirit, and support for the military. Anything else? Taking on the good ol’ boy network.

I wouldn’t listen to anything Kathleen Parker has to say. She’s a backstabber.

Please forgive the vanity.
Anyone tell me how to get Sarah’s tweets or twitters, whatever she does on a daily basis? Can you get them on cell phone, or online? I can navigate some on both, but I’m kind of like a trained monkey; I can learn HOW to do a few things but have no idea why it works! Thanks!

I love and respect Sarah, but fear that just enough of the slime that’s been hurled at her by the commie-libs; and enough of the STUPIDITY of her daughter; and the HATRED of that scumbag sperm donor who sired Bristol’s child, will stick to her, to sink her chances of being elected POTUS.

I’m glad both of you guys’ wives are being pro-active and vocal. You both deserve it, being two significant contributors here at FR. You evidently chose wisely.

“The Judge” ..”With .410 slugs?”

the Wlnchester PDX1 in 410 gauge features a distinctive black hull and black oxide high-base head and combines three plated Defense Disc™ projectiles and 12 pellets of plated BB shot. The result is the ideal personal protection load for short range engagement with the performance needed to stop threats. This load is also suitable for varmint hunting and pest control. Designed for use in the Taurus Judge, this new personal defense round provides maximum protection at close range.
OR
Federal Premium .410 handgun ammo. These hard-hitting .410 loads maximize the performance of Taurus’ Judge revolver. Penetrating 1,200-fps velocity from four-pellet 000 buck or a dense-patterning payload of No. 4’s.
OR
Combine with .45 Colt hollow points. Keep wall penetration in mind when selecting your load. And now Blackhawk makes a Serpa for the Judge and Crimson Trace makes laser grips.

Uh, the choice is between a woman who has a daughter that got pregnant out of wedlock by a loser but who otherwise loves our country and a proven failed president who doesn’t understand that he is supposed to represent the American people over and above his anti-American views.

The media can not obscure the differences in an election with such contrast.

She’s basically responding to Ms. Parker, not agreeing with her.
