On ‘Late Night,’ Christie Rolls Eyes at Prospect of Palin Presidency
The Wall Street Journal' s Metropolis ^ | November 23, 2010 | Lisa Fleisher

Faced with the prospect of a President Sarah Palin, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the Republican party’s darling from another coast, shook his head and rolled his eyes.

“I don’t know, but it’s an amazing world,” he said to Jimmy Fallon during a taping of Tuesday’s Late Night show.

Christie brought his sharp tongue to the talk show Tuesday after the two traded barbs over Twitter when the Republican governor canceled a long-planned Hudson River train tunnel.

Fallon had joked that New Yorkers would now have to get to New Jersey as they usually do — by accident.

“You think it’s funny, Jimmy?” Christie challenged Fallon on the show, which airs at 12:35 a.m. “You know what we do to people like that in Jersey?”

Christie, known by Trenton insiders for his wit and occasionally foul language, turned serious and said New Jersey shouldn’t have to pay for the tunnel while New York stands idly by.

“There’s nothing New Jersey hates more than getting screwed by New York,” he said....

Is the whole Northeast defective?

Politicians, yes, people, no.

Or he might just be tired of 2012 election questions when there’s so much to do right now. Just an alternative thought, though.

Yes, they’d like nothing better than to start a Republican civil war.

This fat bastard is not the savior that some Conservatives make him out as. He is a Rockefeller RINO to the core. He has done nothing to genuinely solve NJ impending bankruptcy. He is soft on many issues dear to us. Beware this man. He is not to be trusted.

I'd have to see the clip to get a sense of whether Gov Christie's response was positive, or negative toward Gov Palin.

He could have been rolling his eyes at the silliness of the moron asking the question of him.

The printed word often doesn't accurately portray the context in which statements were made, nor does it convey the setting, mood, body language, tone of voice, etc.

Then again, maybe Gov Christie was expressing incredulity at the question. Could be - but watch what happens as soon as the Sarah Express takes off. Lots of weasely politicians and journOlists will act as though they've never had a single cross word for her.

Christie is a devout Catholic and is pro-life. He is anti-second amendment and pro-amnesty, however.

I'd have to see it for myself.
He might have been rolling is eyes at Fallon's obvious troublemaker wise-ass setup.

There are many of us behind enemy lines. It's getting so bad up here that some of the so called conservative talk show hosts are turning into schmucks. Jay Severin, a big Romney supporter, rips Sarah Palin every chance he gets, and he's been trashing Bristol almost daily, and he has a lot of influence with the independents in this state. Between the Liberals and conservatives like him, there's no way she's going to take this state, but that was a given anyway.

Settle down there Christie, but you did just blow your chance at speaking at the 2012 GOP Convention.

My aunt was the school nurse at Rutgers for many years. She is very far-left, as are the rest of my relatives there.
