And you thought all those Tea Party rallies and Town Hall protests were about Obamacare, exploding federal spending, earmark corruption, and saddling our children and grand children with a staggering national debt.
Well, let me set you straight on that one. Actually, Vice President Joe Biden did so earlier today on NBC's "Meet the Press," delivering this startling observation for moderator David Gregory:
"The key to turning things around is that having everyone understand the message of that election. We understand that the message is the American public wants us to cooperate -- wants us to work together. That's why if we get the START agreement, we will have -- this lame duck session, since the election -- heard the message and the Republicans will have heard the message: that they want us to reasonably compromise to move the business of the nation forward. As we just did on the economy, with regard to taxes and growth. As, God willing, we're gonna do on national security with regard to START. And I think that is the message of the election."
Yes, he really did say that.
So shouldn’t he take the hint and STOP?

I don’t watch Meet The Professional Left but let me take a wild guess here and predict that David Gregory did not challenge Biden.
Judd Gregg is also voting in favor of START, called his office Friday to complain.
I appreciate that Veep Biden thinks the American public is so informed and aware and wonky that the elections were about START. But we could have every single voter a member of the tea party and that STILL would not be true.
If that is really the message of the election, then why not wait until those that were voted in by that election are seated before proceeding further.
