...she has something they don’t have — a quality most of them NEVER had. Something most of them will never know, because it’s just not in them.

Like the character of “Maddie” in the Charles Portis novel, Sarah Palin has “The True Grit”.

This is the thing that Sarah's most ardent supporters are reacting to. It's also the chief thing that her doubters and detractors on the right are failing to see in her.

Sarah Palin's appeal has less to do with the fact that she performed admirably as a public servant in Alaska, and everything to do with the fact that she understands and embodies those originalist American values that created this nation like no one since Ronaldus Magnus.

Those who want to engage us in long-winded discussions about the minutiae of her policy positions are bogged down in a wonkish corner of a much larger universe of fundamental principles of freedom and liberty.

I trust Sarah, because her decision-making springs forth from a deep pool of conviction. Like most conservatives, she doesn't need more than a few nanoseconds to sort out right from wrong. Her default position on any policy or issue you care to name will always hew toward that choice which promotes more freedom and liberty for the individual, and less power and influence for government.

In my view, she is in a league above mere politicians. She's made of the same stuff as those who founded this country. This is precisely why the left fears her as they do.

This is what confounds the elites, while Ms. Palin “connects” with the unwashed.

That late actor/cowboy guy who rode all the way to the top had it, too...

Indeed. The last patriot they faced of Palin's caliber set their plans back 30 years. In the cinders of their blackened hearts, they know that this time, they will likely be crushed for all time.

Great explanation. Sarah Palin speaks and writes (and lives) conservative ideas, principles, concepts, and presents a conservative vision for the future of the USA, drawn from historical successes of those principles, and contrasted against the historical and current failures of opposing principles.

Simple people talk about people.

Mediocre people talk about events.

Superior people talk about ideas, principles, and concepts.

Our culture has devolved to the extreme "simple", including the talking heads of the media and the corrupt politicians of the leftwing Democrats and leftist RINOs.
