He broke the news to supporters in a letter.
Pence ended months of public speculation with a letter to supporters that he shared with the Indianapolis Star. In the choice between seeking national office and serving Indiana in some capacity, we choose Indiana, the six-term House member wrote.
Ive worked with Rep. Pence a couple of times. He is exactly as he seems: genuine, humble, fair, smart, strongly patriotic and deeply committed to conservatism. Hell make a great governor, and hopefully before long, a great president.
Too bad. He’s a good guy. Would have been good to see someone younger enter the race. But when he spoke at CPAC I did not think he was that dynamic. I suppose he would have done very well in debates with 0bama though.
Pence is among the very least qualified to run.
This is good news.
Pence will make a great Governor! Then he can run for Prez. I hate to see him leave his Congressional seat though. He is my rep, from my home town.
Too bad. Now it looks like we’re going to have a choice between 3 or 4 moderates.
Pence could of easily made a VP spot, but with him out of the race, this will prop up John Thune’s Chances, Actually either combination of Thune/Mitch Daniels is fine with me.
Thune showed courage by going up against tiny Tom Dachle in 04’. Pence could show even more courage by going up against Dick Lugar. And u folks call Pence a CONSERVATIVE? Sure, but he plays it safe.
