Just how wide open is the Republican presidential field? Vast enough that Donald Trump may want you to hire him.
The billionaire real estate mogul and host of television's "The Apprentice" got a raucous reception Thursday when he dangled a potential candidacy before thousands of conservatives who descended on the nation's capital eager to help a GOP challenger deny President Barack Obama a second term.
"The United States is becoming the laughingstock of the world," Trump said....

Oh please. If he runs a country like he runs his businesses we will be claiming bankruptcy every year.
Right and we should. Lookit. The head of the CIA today said Mubarak was gonna quit tonite. The Obama head of our CIA is in the dark man. Bad JUJU.
Lots of people automatically link Trump with the word "bankruptcy". Fair enough.
But only Trump speaks the plain hard truth (like in the statement above). Refreshing! Hopefully, he'll wake a few people up. He's OK in my book.
I see no reason to bash a guy who’s bashing Obama.
I wonder if he would be willing to run as VP on the George Soros ticket?
Anyone is better than bama, trump included.
Yeh but you know this place...full of moral purists who complain about everyone and everything...it’s how we ended up with McCain...Rudy should’ve been the candidate. At lessens has the ability to debate Obama and he would have cut top marinal rate to 20% and he was going to appoint conservative judges so his social issues werent even an issue
Get lost Donald Trump.
Will his toupee show its birth certificate?
I’m just waiting for that thing on his head to stand on its hind legs and beg for a peanut.
Right. Let's take Trump seriously as a political figure and continue the process.
“If he runs a country like he runs his businesses we will be claiming bankruptcy every year.”
You act like we couldn’t use experience with bankruptcy in our government right now. Who do we choose? The same folks who can’t stay away from the credit cards, or someone who had to work (at least at times) only with available resources and no credit?
You are making Trump sound better, which I don’t think was your intention.
You make an interesting point.
Lee Iacocca once said that he would hire only people who have failed at least once in their life.
That’s what experience is all about.
“Thats what experience is all about.”
There is plenty of reason to not go for Trump, but the bankruptcy angle isn’t a good one.
That said - I’d vote for Trump over, say, Gingrich, Romney, Huckabee. They are all phonies, but Trump’s rhetoric would scare the hell out of the Chinese on trade. I like that he’s willing to say what he says on trade. That’s a point in his favor, which gives him more points than most of the supposed GOP slate for 2012.
I’m for his candidacy for that reason alone.
Works for me. And I bet the Japanese would appreciate it too.
I think we can find another job for The Donald like foreign trade rep or something. Not President.
