Rove represents the worst of the elitist GOP establishment.

…One week before the 2010 midterm elections, Rove took aim at Sarah Palin, questioning the wisdom of her appearance on a reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, if she really wanted to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. Palin lacked the “gravitas” to be president, went a subhead in the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph.
Rove later tried wriggling out of his comments, as well as observations he made in a German magazine that tea-partiers weren’t “sophisticated,” being unfamiliar, as Rove was, with intellectuals like the economist Friedrich August von Hayek. But Rove’s backhands weren’t accidental, nor was he the victim of outrageous tabloid reporting. When I bring up his statements about Palin during our interview, Rove says only that he wished he’d made his comments on Fox News instead—before going into a withering impersonation of Palin, recalling a scene from her TV show in which she’s fishing.
“Did you see that?” he says, adopting a high, sniveling Palin accent: “‘Holy crap! That fish hit my thigh! It hurts!’”
“How does that make us comfortable seeing her in the Oval Office?” he asks, disgusted. “You know—‘Holy crap, Putin said something ugly!’”
What a load of crap. Like saying the Steelers are responsible for the Packers.
Rove looks and walks like a tutti-frutti.
No matter how solid most of her positions are, I completely agree that she has little to ‘no’ chance of winning the general. I also agree that she will not be our nominee.
What makes an idiot unelectable? You are talking about most of the Senate here.
Rove also said tonight on Fox that Gov. Walker should split the bill. That’s the same talking point the the liberals have been using since our conflict in Wisconsin started.
I’ve lost the last bit of respect that I had for him.
Let's look again at the races, and about recent history. We can look at the performances of the Establishment Republicans (say, in recent elections), and drill down a bit on this election.
In past elections, (say 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008) we had the following:
2002 -- a year after the 9-11 attacks, and Americans want security, dammit! The GOP gains 8 seats in the House and 2 in the Senate.
2004 -- Presidential Election; the first one after the "Sore Loserman" debacle in Florida in 2000, and the first one after 9-11.
The GOP picks up 3 seats in the House, the Donks lose 2.
The GOP picks up 4 Senate seats, the Donks lose 4.
Bush wins 31 states, but a mere 286 electoral votes, with a bare 50.7% of the popular vote.
2006 -- the Midterm elections for Bush's second term.
The Dems pick up the House, gaining 31 seats, while the GOP loses 30.
The Dems get the Senate, too, winning 6 seats.
This despite the presence of "The Architect" Karl Rove who brags about his detailed knowledge of the ground game.
But (as we will see) he learned his lesson, after a fashion.
2008 -- the annointing of Teh One.
Obama wins 365 electoral votes in 28 states + a single Congressional district in Nebraska. (Nebraska??!!)
The Donks extend their lead in the House, gaining 21 seats.
And in the Senate, they run the table, gaining 8 seats.
The election is marked by numerous unchallenged shenanigans, including voter fraud (voting by felons, votes found in car trunks) in Minnesota, and infamous re-counts in Washington State.
The only thing preventing a total rout is Sarah Palin, who is roundly condemned by the establishment, but targeted by the Dems, after being trashed by advisors lent by the Rockefeller wing of the GOP (as detailed later in Going Rogue).
So, let's look at the record of the Establishment GOP since the first election of George W. Bush (where the victory was so narrow that the Dems complained he was "selected, not elected." (And that, over Clinton's hand-picked successor.)
House: +8 +3 -30 -21 net --> -40
Senate: +2 +4 -6 -8 net --> -8
Heckuva job, Karl.
Compare that to the Tea Parties:
House: +65
Senate: +6
And before you whine, "Hey, no fair! Everyone hates Obama!"
...no, they didn't. Not two years ago. The Donks were so confident, they were still guaranteeing to keep the House as recently as this summer. So, once more I repeat: FUKR.
And, oh, by the way: FUHUCK.

well stated. the Tea Party did well by Christine. Getting rid of Castle was a wonderful achievement.
It is a waste of time arguing with someone who's heart lies more in line with DU. There are many fake conservatives here who continually attack Liberty loving, Constitutional conservatives. They are full of "leftist" hate, because their heart is with the left (either that, or they are on the payroll of some RINO--lol)

Yeah he was the electoral darling, who crafted a centrist win for the Grand Old Party...
Problem was, even though the debt handwriting was on the wall no one was uncomfortable enough to break some eggs.
I was wondering who he reminded me of : Grima Wormtongue from Tolkien's LOTR. Thanks for helping me figure that one out. And perhaps Palin is analogous to Éowyn.

Yep, probably lots of Republican Fox viewers in Delaware in proportion to the population of that small state. And there was the buzz and the brush fires created by Rove's hissy fit and that made even more people, in and out of Delaware, aware of his trashing O'Donnell.
Castle couldn't defeat O'Donnell who couldn't defeat Coons.

It seems that, based on relative finish in the elections, Castle supporters were supporting the biggest twit.
We shall see how the crap unfolds.
