If Palin doesn’t run ther eis no other candidate that can beat Obama haven’t you been paying attention.....

What a ridiculous comment. Any Republican nominee can beat Obama unless the economy dramatically improves, which isn't likely to given Obama's policies.

My guess is that Governor Palin will declare just a few weeks before the Iowa caucus.

And, you'd expect to have a chance in Iowa if she did that?

Thanks. There seems to be a entire new level of nastiness here lately. Check out post 53 from one of the weekend threads. There is an entire new level of madness and idiocy gripping people here.

Why should she skip the debate, unless she's not going to run?

The self promoting publicity tours of Palin and Hannity under the guise of doing it for the charity case troops , demean the sacrifices of our military.

I was going to post links to several of your other posts which demonize Sarah to impart a better understanding of your comment by others which read this thread. Judging from the replies of others, it appears that the "hill has been taken," so to speak.

Since Sarah is not your cup of Tea, is there anyone that you do favor for a Presidential nomination?

.

oh how so?

will any republican candidate be able to drive the narrative? will any republican candidate be able to raise the money needed to fight not just the DNC talking points but the MSM? will any republican candidate be able to contrast their positions as Reaganism vs Obamaism instead of bushism (which the entire country has rejected twice now)

Will any republican candidate be able to compete on the momentum side? will any republican candidate talk about the issues that need talked about. remember in 2009 Mitt and other GOP candidates were talking about moving beyond Reagan. It was Palin talking about move back to Reagan. 2010 election was Reaganism (small government, limited spending) vs socialism writ large. Since no other republican candidate was even talking about this before Palin began to shape the narrative how do you figure any republican candidate can beat Obama.

Your comment is ridiculous. It is not based on any facts whatsoever. The recent history of all the candidates show that only one has the means, mind, and core beliefs needed to take on Obama. Carter wasn't easy to beat Reagan just made him look so. If Bush would have run against Carter it would have been a totally different campaign and ending. Would he have still beat Carter? I doubt it. He couldn't beat a no name AK gov and a crazy man with charts.

What does her non-attendance at some potempkin debate far in advance of the primary season have to do with her running?

Why should she skip the debate, unless she's not going to run?

Why should she walk into an obvious trap by Pollutico/NBC?

I know you’re just being the PDSer that you are, but I’ll answer your question for the benefit of the others. NBC and Politico are organs of the far left/Obama camp. If Daily Kos, MoveOn, ACORN or SEIU were sponsoring debates for the GOP, would you want Republicans to attend?

Yeah, and I can't believe the mods let it go on.

Palin must be over the target, because she's taking a lot of flak.

And sadly friendly fire from some corners here. She does not need to play the occupation elite political game. That includes the establishment media, republicans and rats.

Are you kidding me? We have record high debt that Obama is doing nothing about. Unemployment remains around nine percent. Obamacare is highly unpopular. Obama's record is the narrative. He is Jimmy Carter Jr. and should be an easy kill for a good candidate.

I was born in Des Moines and most of my relatives live between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.

I was born in Denver, Colorado, but I don't make pronouncements about Colorado politics because I don't live there. OTOH, I lived in Iowa from 1974 to 2001, except for the years I was in the service. I feel fairly comfortable predicting that Governor Palin will do well in Iowa if she chooses to run.

You do agree she is going to have to get started by at least late summer in Iowa, don't you?

She is clearly in the upper tier if she announces. But, you have to put in the work in Iowa.

She knows retail politics or no one does. She’s from a huge state with a small, widely scattered population of voters.

We will have to agree to disagree I guess. I see what the GOP leadership is doing in congress and if a candidate of that wing of the party gets elected I don’t think the narrative will be about Obamacare, cutting spending, axing programs.

It will be about buying everyone’s morgtages, tax raises to balance the budget, cutting entitlements andmoving beyond Reagan....

Sarah said that if she ran it would be an "unconventional campaign." This may be part of it....refusing the NBC claptrap in favor of addressing a veterans' affair.

I never lost an election when I held public office. One of my three unbreakable campaign stump rules was "go where your votes are and blow off the rest".

Leni

You are right, Leni. Sarah is making the rules, not following them.

Sarah is setting her own agenda and following her own schedule. She is not following someone else's.

The elites hate her because:
1.) She is not following their agenda and lead.
2.) Sarah can set her own agenda and schedule without them and she is doing it.

Leni, I am going one step further.
Sarah is already wearing the mantle of President and playing the role regardless of who acknowledges it or not.

The role of President has been dropped and cast aside. Sarah is picking it up because America needs it to be done. Like Washington before her she does this out of duty, a love of country and a profound sense of honor and respect for the opportunity God has granted us. Some try to see what Sarah does through the lens of advantage or electioneering tactics. They fail to see as she sees.

It is truly astounding to see someone not holding the office wearing the role of President and the actual office holder not wearing it.

Sarah is the only one to go up against Obama fearlessly again and again. She is a lion. Paul Johnson noted her courage as did Rush today: "Courage is the central value of American politics." By her courage and fearlessness in the defense of our country Sarah has earned wearing this mantle.

Sarah's upcoming reception in India is telling us that other countries are also acknowledging this. As another poster recently noted about Sarah's upcoming trip, India sees who is going to be the next president and they want to lay the ground work for a relationship with her now.

Sarah too is laying groundwork, but for America by starting to build an alliance with a strong ally against China's growing might.

Mr. Sol.
