Over the last few weeks, Washington conventional wisdom has begun to coalesce around the idea that Sarah Palin won't run for president. A number of news outlets and commentators have pointed out that she isn't doing the sorts of things that serious candidates usually do at this point in the calendar, hiring veteran staffers in the key early primary states, visiting those states regularly, and delivering speeches that begin to lay one's "vision" for the country. Roger Ailes of Fox News pointedly did not suspend her contract, as he did those of two other candidates, because, he said, she has given no sign that she is planning a campaign.
All of this is true--and yet strikes me as mostly beside the point. Palin is the furthest thing from a traditional candidate, so why would anyone expect her to behave like one? She may or may not run. But attempting to divine her plans by reading the tea leaves makes a lot less sense with Palin than it does with establishment figures like, say, Mitch Daniels or Haley Barbour. It should go without_saying--shouldn't it?--that if Palin decides to get in the race six months from now, she'll hardly lack for name recognition and won't have any problem raising money. She's as viable as anybody, and more viable than most.
A lot of high-powered conservatives must agree with this assessment, because they're expending_an awful lot of energy urgently insisting that a Palin candidacy would be terrible for the movement. The latest example of Palin-bashing comes this morning in Politico, which has arrayed a murderer's row of conservative intellectuals, from George Will to Charles Krauthammer to Pete Wehner to, um, Matt Labash* to scold and correct anyone who might harbor the heretical view that Palin has a right to seek her party's nomination...

While the entire posting is the very definition of truth, those last six words are the clincher.
Palin is on God's flightpath for her, and she travels with so many angels. Those arrayed against her are the minions of Satan, and wish his bidding done.
It's the largest part of why she'll win.

This is an educated guess on my part, but she said something last week on Judge Napolitano’s TV show that might be a reason for the latest round of attacks.
She said the GOP was taking baby steps in trying to cut spending and people were going to grow tired of or be dissatisfied with what they are doing [Boehner & house leadership]. She said this in context of the newest CR.
That would be a reason for the country club republicans to go after her.
She is right on to have said that, and she is right, people are going to be tired and dissatisfied with what the leadership is doing in the House. She is also right that the little they are doing is baby steps. Pence also gave a speech in the last few days saying they need to do more and do it now. [imho we need adult leadership in congress]
She urged the newly elected tea party people not to be drawn into the vortex.
Those would be fighting words for traditional establishment Republicans.
They’re certainly desperately going to put on the crush...if she’s going to run she’s waiting on the right strategic moment...Obamajad keeps hanging himself, again IF she’s going to run, she’ll reach out and grab the moment.
The article today saying she nixxed off Ailes at Fox is just another ooo..ooo...ooo speculation type thing. We’ll have to wait and see what Ailes says.
The thing is, they’re trying to fob us off with all of those old has been RINO’s that no true conservative is going to vote for and we’ll lose for sure.
DeMint’s not running because he knows he’s just another distrustable white guy, and he lacks the charisma to motivate. He’s left himself out there maybe for a VP slot. As it is with a lot of the young guns. Sarah motivates, big time, and the women would be on top of it!
Allen West is out there. They’re already trying to smear him through his military record, his vote to continue the Patriot Act, and I thought he wobbled by throwing the vote to knock down the extra $21/B in spending and would like to hear why...it could be he can weather the firestorm, but we don’t know as he’s not been tried. Personally, I think he would. We also know that Sarah has weathered it and survived. They’re still scared spitless of her.
If she runs, there’s going to be high drama, and if she doesn’t, God help us! Again, it’s going to be interesting.
