Tim Pawlenty implied Tuesday that there are some less-than-serious presidential hopefuls eyeing the race, with a quip that seemed to lump Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and Donald Trump together with wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.
"You're going to have, you know, Mitt Romney who will start out as the front-runner with the most name-ID and money..." Pawlenty told CNNs Piers Morgan in handicapping the race. "And on the other end of the continuum, you'll have perhaps Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Donald Trump, or I don't know, maybe Hulk Hogan will get in the race too. Who knows? But I think in between those two things on the continuum, there's a role for a serious person who has tackled these kinds of issues. We live in very serious times and the country's facing a grave challenge. And if we're going to restore America's promise, we're going to have to get back to leadership that is steady, clear and strong."
Pawlenty was quick to emphasize that he means no disrespect to those others, and he pivoted to say that President Barack Obama has never run anything before and is clearly in over his head. But the message of holding himself up as a serious alternative to other potential candidates was a clear one....

I will support and vote for the Republican nominee, as usual.
Tim needs to make a sleep aid cd, he’d make a lot of money
He’s already donating money to Zero. Es also still crying over the demise of pissant.
So you're in her "kitchen cabinet" or something? I'm dedicated to raising $2 million for her campaign if she runs and follow most everything she does and says, but I have no idea if she will run or not. Are you a psychic?
Romney has been given the lead by default. I am pumped. His first word in 6 months was to denounce people who think Obama is ineligible.
GO GOP! hoo yah!
I am mighty happy I have Netflix. I am one of the lucky ones. I will be dead before the indoctrinated realize they been had.
Hey you’re from Indiana. I’ve read some about your Governor. Some good, some not so good. What’s your take?
Daniels was a far better Governor than the Democrat we had before him. Many things work better in this state. He is a good guy, and he is fiscally sound. The guy is a great bean counter and brilliant in many ways. He is popular with both parties. Fine with the state, not so good nationally IMHO.
The downside is that he is somewhat of a nanny state guy.
For that reason I can’t get excited about him as President. He isn’t too good on immigration either.
Hope that helps.
Pawlenty is like Mr. Rogers without the charisma. He is vapid.
* Of course when questions are asked of Palin that may be 'uncomfortable' the standard response is 'why should she respond, she hasn't announced that she's running?'
You people are an utter embarrassment to Sarah Palin.
I’d get banned in a New York minute for telling you what I really think, but I do ask you not to post to me anymore as I will not respond as long as I remember your cute little screen name.
my bad, I was sure ES was a girl
I have donated only to Republicans - twice. The first time was to the McCain-Palin 2008 campaign - because of the presence of Palin. The second time was to Joe Wilson.
But Obama has already set a 'precedent' (and if one doesn't think that is what the plan was, then one isn't seeing the big picture) which overrides the Natural Born Citizen Requirement.
I’ll tell you a little secret.
If it hadn’t been for Sarah Palin as VP, the DEMS would have run with Hillary. Once they saw that Palin’s popularity outshone Hillary’s, they decided to switch from a GENDER based race, to a RACE based race.
