Rudy Giuliani the shock Republican frontrunner...and he hasn't even entered the race (What a laff!)

Rudy Giuliani has shaken up the field of potential presidential challengers by coming out on top in a poll of Republican frontrunners.

The former New York Mayor’s election bombshell came even though he hasn’t even announced he is joining the 2012 race.

Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin came in second and third place in the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey published today.

Many Republican voters admitted said they were not very satisfied with the current crop of declared candidates who will battle for the right to take on President Obama. Giuliani, with 16 percent support, was the shock frontrunner despite suggesting earlier this month that he may not even go ahead with a second White House bid after the debacle in 2008 when he bombed out after initially being seen as one of the favourites to win.

He narrowly edged former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, currently seen as the party's first choice because of name recognition and a large campaign war chest, with 15 percent.

Also polling high were former Alaska governor Sarah Palin with 13 percent, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, with 12 percent, and pizza magnate Herman Cain at 10 percent....

It is almost as if the RINOs are attempting to discourage conservatives. How many turds will the GOP throw at the fan before they figure we all feel pretty $hitty about the Republican candidates? How long until they gauge we'll just 'settle' and vote for the guy with the 'R' after his name?

Proof that polls 18 months before an election are meaningless.

One of the top preferences for Republican Presidential candidate is someone very well known who isn’t running.

Are there any potential candidates as well known as Giuliani who are also conservative?

I don’t know what anyone sees in Giuliani...

He took a city spiraling out of control, run by affirmative action losers and race baiters, overwhelmed by cultural Marxists, said he would fix it, which NO ONE believed he could do.

Then he did it.

Faced down the NY left and the Sharpton mob every day for eight years, told the lefty NY media to f*** off, and left the city incomparably better then he found it.

He's very unpopular here, and not without reason, but he did what he did.

What other politicians do you know who say exactly what they are going to do and then do it?

I'm supporting Sarah this time, but if you didn't know what anyone saw in Rudy - now you do.

There are no dark horse candidates with the name id of Giuliani, but I see three potential winners in Nikki Haley, Paul Ryan, or Marco Rubio. They are young, vital players on the Republican side and have the potential to draw votes.

Anti-second amendment gay abortionists.

Hope you don't mind me adding something.

Still a no-vote. The few constituents who do gatekeeping for nominees get the government and the default that they deserve.

It’s very interesting. Rudy doing well in a poll really says a lot about Obama.

Before Rudy, Trump came out surprising high.

What do both these men have that Obama does not? Strength, and a proven ability to lead. IMHO, people are reacting against Obama’s weekness and incompetence.

I do not believe that unknowns can win. Republicans never pick unknowns.

Not criticizing those people, often running one year builds name recognition up for a later run. But they wouldn’t win in 2012.

ONE AND ONLY ONE OF THE QUESTIONS WE HAVE TO AKS OURSELVES IS....'WHOSE MUG WOULD U RATHER SEE FOR EIGHT YEARS, REPRESENTING THIS GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET, RUDY'S MUG OR SARAH'S?':

ALASKAN FOX

AH, SARAH...... WHERE BEAUTY MEETS BRAINS MEETS BRAVERY MEETS HONESTY MEETS FAITH AND ABILITY....

“Here’s a guy who had everything going for him heading into the 2008 primary season but couldn’t be bothered to actually try.”

YES! Exactly. His campaign was cr*p. I supported him for a while last time, and actually drove some distance to see him at a fundraiser. But Rudy had no idea how to run a campaign, and I have no time for people who can’t be bothered to put their all into beating Obama. The GOP must WIN this time. Giuliani, stay home!!

But not to worry, he is assuring everybody that he will appoint true Conservatives to the Supreme Court. Yes he is going to have Ted Olson guide him in the process of picking Judges, as soon as Ted is finished with the gay marriage fight...ROLL EYES..I would say LOL if it was not so serious

I suppose these “journalists” that write for the British media don’t understand that polls by CNN, NBC, PPP, Gallup and many others are all slanted to the liberal views through their over-weighting toward the left and by the way the questions are worded.

Rudy doesn’t have a prayer of winning the nomination, and if he did try to run he would probably lose worse than he did in 2008.
