Bachmann campaign manager rips Palin: She 'has not been serious' (Ed Rollins, naturally!)
The Daily Caller ^ | June 7, 2011 | Jeff Poor

This could be some of the early shots in the contest for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

On Tuesday’s “Kilmeade and Friends” on the Fox News Radio network, former Huckabee campaign manager Ed Rollins, who signed up with potential presidential candidate Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann on Monday, explained why he decided to join the Bachmann camp.

“Well I’m going to work for Michele Bachmann if she runs,” Rollins said. “That’s the one that intrigues me the most at this point and I think to a certain extent she’s articulate, she’s a conservative. She’s got a great story to tell. She’s on the Intelligence Committee. You know, she’s unknown to the national audience, but she’ll become known and that’s the candidacy that I’m going to work for if she runs.”

But Rollins, with his own history of playing offense in presidential campaigns, took a few shots at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who could be a potential rival for Bachmann.

“Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years,” Rollins said. “She got the vice-presidential thing handed to her. She didn’t go to work in the sense of trying gain more substance. She gave up her governorship. You know, I think Michele Bachmann and others have worked hard. She has been a leader of the Tea Party, which is a very important element here. She’s an attorney, done extraordinary things with family values and what have you. So I think she will connect. She’s a great, great communicator and I would say in the race right [now] today, she is probably the best communicator.”

I dont have the words to show my dissappointment in Bachmann and I really thought highly of her before this disaster.

She’s made it easy.
I’m done with her.

I thought she might be a possible VP candidate, but after this? I can’t really imagine it, because it is unlikely that Sarah would ever be able to completely trust her loyalty or her judgment. It’s unfortunate.

I’ll go back to what Sarah said and I always thought this too. Bachmann has no Executive Experence.

I’m with Sarah.

Bachmann lost about 10-20 million votes this morning and untold amounts of money from what Rollins said.

Worst thing Rollins could have done.

He’s made it all but impossible for Palin or her supporters to *ever* look kindly at Bachmann.

What was he thinking? I’ll answer that.

It’s typical Rollins. He’s always derisive and always wrong. He carries grudges. He’s a washed-up, bitter Beltway insider who’s for sale to the bidder willing to engage in blood sport politics.

See ya, Michele Huckabee Bachmann.

Win Iowa pandering ethanol and catering to Huck’s voters.

Sarah Palin will stand on principles AGAINST ETHANOL, and tell the truth about everything she believes.

Election 2012 is about saving our Republic and it’s restoration.

Only a truthful, all American, girl-next-door, patriot can possibly lead us to victory. That person is Sarah Palin. She’s been smeared, lied about and she’s still standing, stronger than ever. That’s why cheapsuit, Rollins went after HER today.

Rollins fears HER, pity that. He knows his own client is too weak to just praise her, without trying to tear down Sarah Palin.

SICK.

Same with me. I wanted to give her a chance. Sarah deals with enough vitriol from the left. I mean, I know she’s strong and can handle it, but this is just evil. I’m so disappointed.

Is there any way you can put me on Sarah’s ping list? I’d really appreciate it.

How does the saying go?
You’re known by the company you keep.
If your first important picks you surround your self with aren’t the best then what can we expect if we give you the big job?

I'm gonna get slammed for this, but here goes anyway...

Women who have been athletes seem to be cut from a different cloth. They will be as nice as can be to each other, but when they step on the court or between the lines they will cut your heart out and hand it to you. Step off the court and the dynamic changes.

My experience with my three sisters and my daughters is that females MAY tend to internalize competitive type situations/conflict and make it personal more than men (of course there are outliers). I don't SEEM to see that so much with female athletes.

That is how I see Gov Palin. Business is business and she doesn't seem to internalize the conflicts (until people start messing with her family).

Oh well, read the tagline...

I’ll give him respect, in that he worked for President Ronald Reagan, and that he managed his campaigns..

I don't think Rollins' managed his 80 campaign. I believe it was John Sears. Rollins had it easy in 84 because Reagan was so popular.

Rollins is a RINO loving fool.

I have to laugh at those who were probably never with Bachmann (e.g. many Palin supporters) now saying they’ve changed their mind in Bachmann. I think what Rolling said was stupid and I hope Bachmann tells him to shut it. Unless he’s not on her payroll until she announces?

Ed Rollins had nothing to do with Reagan’s ‘76 and ‘80 campaigns. John Sears managed the ‘76 and the early part of ‘80 campaign until Reagan fired him before the ‘80 NH debate, replacing him with Bill Casey.

Rollins was brought in by Nofziger to handle the ‘84 campaign. Ed Rollins cut his political teeth under Nixon.

You’re a RINO pimp, jack. Something you shameless tried to spin away. So why should we listen to you about another RINO like Rollins.

He is going after Palin because going after Palin is the only reason that Bachmann is in the race. She cannot be that stupid that she truly believes she can win. She is in to take enough votes away from Palin tt allow Romney to slip through and beat her. It’s called a stalking horse.

Ding, ding, ding--we have a winner!

Although I think Bachmann does believe she can win. Politicians have HUGE egos, and I'm sure someone has massaged hers enough to think she can win the nomination.

Or alternativly (as I've said before)...

Should Romney win the nomination, he'll need someone hard-core tea-pary/conservative as his VP if he has any hopes of holding the GOP base. Bachmann would fit that role to a T.

So she gets in as a stalking horse to split the coservative vote and enable a RINO to win the nomination. Then she ends up on the ticket as the veep. Win or lose the presidency, she's raised her profile and would have a shot at getting the nomination herself some time in the future.

This is old-school political calculations/games. The kind most people (at least here I'm sure) are pretty tired of. Either on purpose, or unconiously as the puppet of the GOP machinery, Bachmann is playing her part in that old-school political game.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she doesn't realize she's been manipulated into being an establishment puppett, but that's not really a huge compliment either.

Sounds like MB’s banking on a Romney/Bachmann ticket,
which will sell well to the uninformed who’ll be impressed with their ‘look.’
