Romney says he can work with Democrats (Do tell!)
The Imperial Valley Press / The Los Angeles Times ^ | June 28, 2011 | Maeve Reston

Reporting from Concord, N.H.— As Democratic and Republican leaders in Washington struggled to find agreement on spending cuts and extending the debt limit, Mitt Romney struck a conciliatory note in New Hampshire on Monday by lamenting partisan feuding while touting his record of working with Democrats -- even the Senate's onetime liberal lion Edward M. Kennedy.

Taking a pause from a fundraising tour for two campaign appearances, Romney faced questions from voters that reflected frustration with the gridlock in Washington.

During a business roundtable at a technology company in Salem, state Sen. Chuck Morse pressed Romney to explain how he would unite "a country that's very divided." Morse told the Republican front-runner: "Quite honestly, it's not working and they're not getting the message in Washington right now."

A short while later, at Lincoln Financial Group in Concord, Romney's first questioner told the former Massachusetts governor that he was troubled by how polarized the country had become.

"We're either on the extreme left or the extreme right, but in the past America has become great by compromise and going down the middle of the road," said independent voter Stephen Smith, 57. "What do you propose doing to bring America back together?"

The questions were a reminder of the competing imperatives that Republican candidates face in New Hampshire: They must win over the party's most passionate conservatives while also appealing to independent voters who can cast ballots in the first-in-the nation primary next year.....

Romney is the best Democrat runnning for President in this election cycle. How much funding is the DNC providing to run his campaign?

This is the problem with almost all of the “experienced” politicians that offer themselves as national candidates. Their entire political life has been spent “learning” “how to work with Democrats”. Unfortunately for this experience to mean anything Democrats must also “learn” “how to work with Republicans”.

Has anyone seen anything like this since, oh let's say 1964?
Remember Bush ‘41 had a deal with the Democrats over taxes as did Regan. How long did those deals last?

Romney has just disqualified himself as a serious candidate for President. The reason for this disqualification is he has no real-world operational assessment of how the Democrats are going to behave when he becomes President.

“We, the People” have been down that path too many times to believe that the Democrats currently in power are going to change, ever. Our candidate for President must reflect the same reality!

Myth, we don't want to hug the rats, we want to soundly defeat them and their socialist ideas. To preach reaching across the aisle to play kissy-face with those whose programs will destroy America is stupid in the extreme.

Um, yeah....that’s part of the problem Mitt. We don’t need another Republican President that can work with the enemy, we need one that can destroy them as a viable political machine. Mitt, it just ain’t in ya.

Sure, Mitt. Because what I want in a candidate isn't someone who will kneel before the godless, incompetent would-be ruling class idiots who have ruined Western society in favor of a socialist Disney pipe-dream, what I want is a candidate who will face them and drop to only one knee.

Just go away, Mitt. Please.

Someone needs to photo shop a pic or do a cartoon of two dogs going at it and put a donkey head on the top dog and Mitt's face on the bottom dog with the text balloon saying “Just grab your knees and bend over. It only hurts for a while” all while a couple elephants and rinos are standing by watching.

What a panty-wearing wimpy pathetic thing to say. You don't work at all with the RATS. The evil rat party needs to be destroyed politically.

Working with the RATs means one thing -- more government.

A happy day for all conservatives will be when Mitt realizes he will NOT get the nomination.
