Perry is a very compassionate person. I will not dispute that. He's given many speeches as Governor over the years in support of illegal immigrants and how tough it is for them and how we benefit from their labor, and the compassion he shows makes me almost want to join him in supporting them.

But, it's very hard to take somebody seriously when they claim to be pro-life, but turn around and support a pro-abortion candidate for President. It wasn't that long ago that I didn't take abortion as seriously as I should have, and I'm very ashamed of that, but I wasn't a Governor telling people that I was pro-life while I was supporting a pro-abortion candidate for President.
