Palin 77% Perry 23%
36,591 Votes Total
Interestingly, it hasn't changed much since we started FReeping it, not a tick over the last 2,000 votes. Tells me that FreeRepublic's Palin support levels mirror that of the NRO readership... a very good sign, as that cuts a very wide swath through the GOP base. I'm sure TEA Party support is higher even than GOP.
So I wonder what happened to the 72% who don't want her to even run? How can she be the conservative "standard bearer" if she doesn't run?
Things that make you go, ..."Hmmmm..."

The poll already had 32,000+ (maybe more) votes when it was posted by STAR earlier this afternoon on the LIVE thread, and the percentages were the same. No doubt about it, Sarah is the overwhelming favorite and for all the right reasons.

I am so pissed off I can’t see straight. damn AT&T! I found it on the Pay Per View but it is specific showings that no-one in their right mind would be able to view with any pleasure. Today it was from 6-8(which is ok..just wish I had known..next showing isn’t until the 6th..one at 1:00 AM and another at 11:00 AM next showing the 10th...8:00 AM ..Next the 12th..1:00 AM and then one finally at 7 PM.
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!

(Sarah Palin ~ Constitutional Conservative)
To: muir_redwoods; Randy Larsen
It is reasonable for each respondent to factor in their assessment of the potential standard bearers ability to win the general election. If one were not to include that factor in the assessment then it would be simply a question of who is the most conservative person available. The ability to win is a critical element of bearing the standard. One might reasonably select a less conservative choice that seems to have a better chance of winning.
I beg to differ.
THis is the Primaries.
This is where you vote your conscience and principles.
If your approach was the rule of the day when Reagan was running in 1979, when he was down 30+ points in Polling to Carter, we would have never had Reagan.
Jump in the water FRiend, be brave, vote your conscience and principles first, no one fore-knows the political calculus of this next election cycle except God, and he requires us to also live by our conscience.

I disagree with you. A standard bearer who can’t win, or who seems to me can’t win, will not get my vote because there is no sense to backing a dead horse in any context. It’s not a matter of voting my conscience, it’s a matter of using my brain strategically. Just as there is no good price for something you don’t want, there is no good sense in backing someone who can’t win.

Boeing and Merck, just to name a couple, .....and look up the ‘Texas Enterprise Fund’, and the ‘Texas Emerging Technology Fund’,.... where Perry gained the power to spend taxpayer money to pick winners and losers, and to entice businesses to move to Texas via payoffs.
