Sarah is no longer “leading” conservatives, at least not many. It is my belief that without being in the hunt for the nomination, she will not be able to steer Romney or Perry on a single issue. Bob

I stayed off the Palin threads primarily because I did not believe that she was going to run. Too much of her activity was not related to mounting a campaign.

I find it hard to believe that people consider her a "leader". Leaders lead...they don't get out of the way, which is what she did.

I strongly suspect that there will be far fewer invitaions to speak in her future and I doubt that she would have been asked to appear at this past Saturday's event or the one in Korea if the organizers knew that she would no longer be a potential candidate. In many ways it was that possibility that gave her cache.

As for the phrase "Palin patriot" - what exactly is that? Would it be a young man who was going to volunteer for service but who decided not to because it might cost his family too much so he let someone else do it? What kind of patriotism is that?

Moose, I can’t disagree with much of what you say. But she had been a leader before last week, when she chose to cheer from the sidelines. There can be no excuse for the tardiness of her negative decision. It is nobler to fight and lose than to concede defeat before the first shot is fired, and allow socialism to gain a stranglehold on our land unfettered. Yeah, is there really a point behind her speech in Korea now? I think not. Bob
