Republican candidate Bill Johnson supports passing a new law requiring would-be voters to present photo identification at the polling station. He sees the stricter standard as a "common-sense security measure" to prevent fraud.
His Democratic opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes, responds that state law has worked by requiring voters to show a non-photo ID or be recognized by precinct officers. Using her own family as an example, she claims the new standard would present a hardship and deter some people from voting.
"I don't think we need to tell my grandmother who's 91 years old that she has to purchase a government-issued ID before she gets to vote on election day at the same precinct she's been at for 40 years," Grimes said. "It's in essence a poll tax. It's taking us backwards."

Speaking of “taking Kentucky backwards” the Democrats have their heads stuck in 1830 and cannot be moved.
Too damn bad. If the criminal communists Democrats stopped their recruiting illegal voters then there would be no problem.
These people invariably claim “intimidation” when asked for an ID when voting. I wonder what these idiots do when they go into a bank for a transaction and are confronted by a teller who has never seen them before. Guess what! I’d feel intimidated if I were not asked for an ID and I’d report the errant teller to the management. This whole thing is blatantly stupid on its face. The desire here is to be able to go to several precincts while presenting as a different person each time. This phenomenon is peculiar to Democrats and has the desired effect of amplifying their vote.

In many precincts in Baltimore City there are NO Republican election judges due to there being so few Republicans in the city at all. Dems "act" as Repbulicans. They can vote for as many people as they want to, whether the people show up to be recognized, or are even alive. Who would know? Many, many people need picture ID to buy cigarettes, buy liquor, get food stamps, go on an airplane, etc. Dems do not want fair elections.

Completely false argument. I.D.'s in every state that has passed this law are free for the purpose of voting. And for any bed-ridden senior in assisted living, this isn't going to be an issue because they won't be I.D.-ed at the polling place, but through the absentee ballot system.
I have tried repeatedly to reach the Williams campaign for signs etc.
Neither Northern Ky or Frankfort even answers their phones.
I gave up.
If your grandmother had any respect for election law, rights of Americans to hold a sacred monopoly on voting in America, and American sovereignty itself, I think that she would be more than happy to comply.
Well, they’ve played up Williams’ intallation of a taxpeyer funded big screen TV in his office. Also, Williams always has an angry look in front of the cameras.

A search here seems to show many freepers might be unaware of this race in two weeks. And a failure in a state GOP should do better in.
