Dear Governor Palin,
In the long sweep of human events, beginning rightly with the ministry of Christ, men and women have been asking the eternal question: Lord, what do you want of me? From Saul on the road to Damascus, to Martin Luther, at the dawn of the Reformation, to Soldiers who carry their nations best hopes and dreams in defense of liberty, this question has been repeated.
In farm and factory, in churches across the globe and in the corridors of power as leaders have knelt in prayer, that question resonates. George Washington, Abraham Lincoln these two of our nations shining stars were humble enough to ask for divine guidance and direction. Washington, his (our) Army in desperate shape, fell to his knees in the snows of Valley Forge and stated the case for a birth of freedom. God answered. Lincoln, on his way to his Inaugural travelled from Springfield, Ill. to Washington, D.C. and along the way, prayed in earnest that God would somehow usher in a new birth of freedom.
Again, He answered.
Neither of these two men were sunshine Patriots. They did, instead, answer their nations call to somehow keep the idea of American freedom and exceptionalism alive. In our time, Ronald Reagan understood and answered Freedoms clarion call. He stepped into the darkness and kindled the fires of freedom for a nation in real peril. He understood, as do you that history summons leaders and beckons them to rise above citizen status to live the life of statesman in defense of liberty That is where we are today.
Governor Palin, the struggles of today hearken us back to an earlier time when the nations future was at stake. A time when men and women of enormous faith knelt in the snows in distant places and asked our God for the chance to carry on the work of our forefathers. These struggles hearken us back to a time when, as the patriot song says, Soldiers served our great nation, From the frozen fields of Valley Forge to the trail called Ho Chi Minh, to the mountain slopes of Afghanistan to the streets of America.
Governor Palin, will you answer that clarion call? Will you rise up and lend your statecraft, vision, and love of country to serve us as this nation, so richly blessed by God enters yet another time for testing and choosing"? We, all of us signers of this petition, not unlike our forefathers mutually pledge to each other (and to you) our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor" and graciously ask that you proudly accept our nomination for President of the United States and know that, just like the Soldiers of Valley Forge, with you at the helm, Americas better days are ahead of her and that America will be as President Reagan so proudly declared in his farewell speech, ...I've spoken of the shining city in my mind it was a tall proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, wind-swept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace, a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity, and if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. This is the America we all envision and the one we know, with your leadership as our President, is both real and attainable.
Governor Palin, will you allow us to join you on this great crusade? Now is the time, today is the day, our future together is here.

As I rode my horse, Little Man, around Rancho del Cielo during the spring of 1975, I thought a lot about the lost vision of our founding fathers and the importance of recapturing it and the voices from around the country who were pressing me to run for president. And I remembered something Id said many years before: A candidate doesnt make the decision whether to run for president; the people make it for him.

I fully expect to see post like this right up to Monday, November 5, 2012 and starting again Wednesday, November 7, 2012 no matter who wins.
Rather see her as VP alongside Cain. She’ll be a popular addition to a ticket with the only conservative candidate, and 8yrs of VP experience will put her in an excellent position to run for POTUS.

Good grief. Some people just can’t buy a clue. Sarah Palin is not running for POTUS, no matter how sanctified you believe she is.
Not going to happen. Sarah Palin has a toddler, and one who has special needs and time demands at that. In her letter announcing her declination to run, she emphatically stated that her priorities are God, Family, THEN country. She is going to put her family first, which is her responsibility as a mother, notice that the constitution bars young people (under 35) from being president. I believe that the Founding Fathers at least considered the notion that those with a responsibility of raising young children would have that priority as well. Whether or not they did, Sarah Palin will NOT be a VP candidate or presidential candidate for some years to come, if ever.
Actually I haven't seen much of Sarah since she said, "NO."
If Romney is the nominee come next November, I’m going to “write in” Palin! Hell, I might very well write her name in regardless of the GOP nominee.

Correct, they don’t even need a clue, she gave an emphatic and resounding “NO.” Just as she should have with her current family situation. I support her choice in being a mother, first.
She would make a fine president, but in 2012 she would have a hard time winning.
She’s still young. She can run in 2016, 2020, 2024 or even 2028, assuming there is still an America and we still have elections.
Maybe they’re in that crowd that thinks, “’No’ means ‘No’, and sometimes ‘Maybe’.”
