Most of us, if we read the LDN, are acquainted with a talented writer, Kathleen Parker, who writes for the Washington Post. She often has an article in the Lufkin Dai|ys Opinion pages. Oh, she is good, even when making light of God in a whimsical way.
ln her article, The tease says shes not running (LDN - 10-10-2011), Kathleen gleefully slams Sarah Palins closeness to God by referencing that Palin finally proves that there is a God. Miss Parker, quoting Sarah Palin, she and her husband Todd, devote ourselves to God, family and country, her decision, she said, maintains that order. Palins relationship to God and deferring to Him on any subject; personal, political or otherwise, indicates confidence in letting God become an intercessor. Simply put, let ones mind reconcile itself to a partner (God, in this case) to help nail down a firm commitment. l have at times injected Gods name into play, on my behalf, when Ive suddenly busted my thumb with a hammer. I havent the vaguest idea if God jumped into action on my behalf since I did not hear Him bless me in any way; yet the immediate call for damnation was an automatic response to my intercessor (God) because I assumed without question He was nearby, based upon my lifetime of faith.
Sarah Palins prayer for Gods help had nothing to do with a play upon words, but everything to do with her faith that God influences, within her mindset, the direction or progression she, through her own free will chose to pursue. Kathleen Parkers hanging a sleazy name like tease on Palin in no way changes her divine signals, appearance or disappearance of light, opened or closed any door, or shut off any pathway because she used the traditional values she had been taught from childhood onward. Those values are firmly embedded in ones consciousness and appear or disappear depending upon what arouses those circumstances which might provoke ones conscience to act.
Ms. Parker laments that the media are beside themselves anytime Sarah Palin shows up at any event, whether on stage or the back of a flatbed truck, or whatever. Her remark was the media could not help themselves since she, Palin, is the flame of moth dreams, the siren of mariners. Of course, that is in reference to Greek and Roman mythology of nymphs, who by their singing lured mariners to sleep and thereby destroy themselves on the rocks surrounding their island.
Most interesting, since I view Ms. Palin as representing American womanhood with a husband and family and a person who seems to enjoy being with her family. Yes, and loves going fishing at sea with her husband. Believe me ladies, if you have the stamina and the stomach to field dress a moose, you represent to me that you are better equipped and more fitting to be president of the United States than a community organizer would be any day of the week.
Not to be dissuaded from commenting on the Republican nominating campaigns and two of those candidates in particular, politicing to become the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. Which one is a true conservative? We know pretty much Rick Perrys position on conservatism because he has been our governor dating way back when. He has played the role of governing this state conservatively since he started. Yes, he admits that he was once a Democrat but, a fortunate awakening happened upon him and the darkness faded away and he became Mr. Good Hair as he was known by the late Miss Molly Ivins, (a columnist for the Austin American Statesman) God bless her pea picking heart. She could not forgive him for converting into a conservative ideologist. You can bet that if there were bad things to be said or written about Rick Perry, Ms. Ivins would have let you have it with both barrels. l seem to recall that John Connally was another conservative who abandoned the Democratic party and yep, you guessed it, John Connelly wasnt one of Miss Mollys favorite persons either.
Mr. Mitt Romney, a product of the Northeast, is not even close to being a solid conservative Republican. He may fit a moderate mold maybe. Weve had our share of moderates in the Bushs. Some of Mitt Romneys positions are very similar to President Obamas, such as his vision of a larger government, higher taxes, and wealth redistribution. He makes noises that he opposes the above mentioned positions, but somewhat faintheartedly. He is wealthy so how could he really feel the pain of the dont haves? Ranting about his religion is a no-no. Some of my best friends down through the years have been Mormons. So Christ has favorites, so did my Mother. Life, received from God, is a pleasure and a blessing. Take care and treat it with diligence because it is the only life you will ever have.
Ping!
Thanks for posting.
Reminds me of how much I thoroughly despise the vile Kathleen Parker and her ilk with every fiber of my being. And conversely, why I so deeply admire and respect Sarah Palin. Unfortunately, here in 2011 America, the kind of dark degeneracy of Parker (despite her being laughably referred to by some as a ‘conservative’) and her world is the kind of mindset that has paved the way for Obama and his destruction of our country.
Kathleen Parker... ln her article, "The tease says she's not running" (LDN - 10-10-2011), Kathleen gleefully slams Sarah Palin's closeness to God by referencing that Palin "finally proves that there is a God."
When do we get the old Palin ping list back? I’m missing these articles.
Those two look really presidential there together, don’t they, smoothsailing!
You couldn’t get any better people and more experience than these two great governors of two great energy-producing states!
Drill Baby Drill!!!
I love it!
