Palin’s Disappearing Act Holds a Warning for Perry (Hurl, you will)
The New York Times ^ | November 24, 2011 | Ross Ramsey

In the array of governors who turned to national politics — a collection that includes four of the last six presidents and a horde of contestants who didn’t make it — Rick Perry looks a lot more like Sarah Palin than like George W. Bush. And not just in his politics.

Mr. Bush went from announcement to primary to the presidency without John McCain or Steve Forbes or the hanging chads in Florida turning him into a running punch line. Republicans made their examination and picked their guy.

Mr. Perry got into this with all of the attributes Republicans were looking for. A fresh face? Check. Able to leap tall donors in a single bound, hauling in pallets of money? Check. In line with social conservatives? Check. Copacetic with fiscal conservatives? Simpatico with the Tea Party? Good speaker, good-looking, nice family? None of Ms. Palin’s baggage but all of her constituents? He checked every box.

The governor has a record of electoral victories all the way back to 1984, including in a couple of difficult races against Jim Hightower and John Sharp and some that were difficult on paper and easy in fact, against Tony Sanchez and Kay Bailey Hutchison. The first two were against then-popular Democrats, the others against a businessman with a bottomless pit of political money and against a sitting senator who was, by some accounts, the state’s most popular Republican....

I just don't know what to think about ol Sarah...well, other than she's a freakin fox.

Sarah really stunned me when she came out campaigning for Perry in Texas.

I really thought she'd be a major player in 2012, but it appears not so much.

I've not watch a single minute of O-bozo’s speeches, but I think if Sarah was in the WH, I'd watch them all just cause she’z conservative, likable and damn fine lookin.

Call me crazy, but I think it is going to be a choice between Hillary and Sarah...(only half sarcastic)...Obama does an LBJ and they draft Hillary, and the Republicans stand in a circular firing squad and shoot each other in the vetting process and leave a call for Sarah to come in at the convention.

[Alarm rings...wake up call...wow, I must have been dreaming...]

Thanks for showing you lack the ability to understand. It’s obvious that some things are over your pay grade. It’s amazing how some are so willing to show their IQ level. The media, certainly, knows their audience when pablum time comes. You, now, are officially in the ranks of the libtards.

Who is your candidate in this race as I want to know the one that is feeding pablum.

During the summers when I was in college, I was a counselor at a camp for physically and mentally handicapped children and adults. Some were very handicapped, didn't know where they were, and were there because it was the only time of the year many parents had two weeks off. We had a few who made their beds with their feet. Some we had to feed and dress.

That is where I learned a lot about life which made it worth doing for no pay...'cept 3 fattening meals a day. I guess it could be said that most of what I know that I consider important in life, I learned at summer camp... from handicapped kids and adults. We had them 24/7 and I learned what it means to be really tired. Haven't been that tired since.

I took care of my mother 18 of the past 19 years...the last 5 she was totally bedridden. Those were the easy years. I had help but there were times that rocket science would have been child's play in comparison.

Those are the things that are important to me but they don't make a resume.

What am I NOT understanding. According to Palin she didn't want to fight the accusations against her. So, she either quit or, those accusations forced her out. Any other conclusion is sophistry.

By the way, YOU reveal your baseness by insulting ME when I post about Palin. Unless you are her then your taking such offense at my posts reveals YOUR inability to be rational - or in your words "a libtard".

Who is your candidate in this race as I want to know the one that is feeding pablum.

I haven't decided yet. Who is your?
