Those two stops I heard were because they were driving cars without plates. That would and should get anyone pulled over.

I read that one of them had his papers with him, but that did not seem to matter to the officer at the roadblock.

Didn’t the foreign worker for Mercedes, he did not have no id on him at all and he stated it was all back at his hotel ? If I was in his country and did what he did, I would be taken to jail too.

Uh, you are insane. In Germany, police does not care about any foreign IDs (technically status have to proven if asked but it has never been enforced and even if it would, no jail would follow). They are certainly not going to send you to jail.

He was unable to produce his driver license and passport during a routine traffic stop. He was evidently pulled over for driving a rental car without tags...So this is legal police do not see any need to check out this ? I can drive with no tags, no insurance, no license and it’s now legal and police just wave you on ? I wish I would knew this sooner my plate just cost me over $ 100.00

He could have stolen the car - it didn’t even have plates. Who knows if the rental agreement was on him. I don’t blame them for taking him into custody until they could verify his story and identity. This is still for the time being a nation of laws

How does a rental car have no tags? Something smells here.
