The tea party is still pining for Sarah Palin.
The grassroots conservative movement has yet to throw its support behind a Republican presidential candidate because we dont have the female Ronald Reagan running and thats Sarah Palin, said Amy Kremer, chairwoman of the Tea Party Express.
We havent engaged in presidential politics yet because the movement hasnt coalesced around anybody, so were just sitting back and waiting, Kremer added.
Predicting that a good slice of the countrys conservatives will not make up their minds until they are standing in front of the ballot box, Kremer singled out the former Alaska governor as the only person out there right now that can truly excite the base.
Certainly some candidates bring their own energy and excitement. Michele Bachmann had it early on when she won the [Iowa] straw poll, and then when Perry got in, she said. But theres no one that is electrifying as Sarah Palin.
Kremer is the leader of one of many tea party groups. But while she is far from being the authoritative voice of the movement, she suggested a sense of ambivalence and frustration is widespread among conservatives....

I’d call that the elect Obama line.
No thanks. I’m a Palin supporter. She can run in the future.
Hey all you PDS’ers here that we’ve tried to educate: SUCK ON THAT! Shout outs to 2DV and BTM.
Actually, that is the same thing I said after Cain dropped out. First Sarah (not that she was officially in, but I thought she was, even though she said she wasn't) and I thought the world was over. Took some time, then went 100% behind Cain. Then he dropped out. I feel lost.
Hmmm, I'm zero for zero....perhaps I should get behind barry >:)
You Betcha!
Yup!
We’ve got a looooooooong primary ahead of us. If Newt is thrown out of the lead by attacks from the left (and right), and Mittens starts gaining ground, you’re going to see a MASSIVE grass roots effort get underway to convince Palin to get into the race.
The prospects for this race already look so dismal, that one wonders what’s holding her back. The call of duty ought to be louder than a fire alarm in her ears right now.
Anything, like this, written by Politico should be considered “Democrat Propaganda”.
Normally, I'd agree with you, but this just happens to be one of those 'broken clock' posts.
It's a fact that the Republican electorate is nonplussed by our selection of candidates, and that the bulk of Tea Party conservatives are even more-so. Only Sarah Palin can bring the sort of excitement and passion that we need to galvanize the base at this time.
Politico got it right, for once.
Bravo! Bravo! Excellent post.
The GOP went all out to utterly destroy Palin and make sure she didn't run. I despise the elites in ways that cannot be written.
The GOP elites are equally as dangerous to our Liberties as the evil left and the Marxist. The GOP elites HATE conservatives infinitely more than they do the RATs.
It reminds me of Braveheart when William Wallace was betrayed by his own Scottish lords. They cared not for Scotland. Wallace did what was just and honorable! He took care of their evil.
These GOP elites must somehow be financially and politically destroyed. They deserve the utmost contempt because they lie outright when they say they desire limited government. The laugh behind our backs when they spew such bromides. One day they will face the reality that they had an equal hand in destroying our beloved Republic.
Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media vet the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.
This election will be a non-election...featuring the state approved candidates-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.
