Does anyone EVER bring up Romney’s lack of military experience? Not a thing is ever said about this. What — he has 5 or so sons and none of them have served. Has anyone in his family ever served?

Never hear much about it.

Good point. When the Draft was eliminated, there have been few men in public life who can point to a military career on their resume’.

Perry went to Texas A & M and went on to serve in the military, but who else that is running for POTUS has had military experience? Oops, I forgot the Democrat’s Coward in Chief Obama.

Obama ran on the same message that he will change the way that Washington works. I was never a believer in Hope and Change and am not starting now either.

I can think of no scenario under which I vote for Mitt Romney.

Agreed.
NO WAY could I reward with my vote the GOP establishment and its media allies for succeeding in getting that guy nominated. Won't happen.

Everyone who supports Romney is a communist?

Was everybody who supported Mao a communist? Romney foisted communist health care on Massachusetts. That baggage is simply too much. Add to that the countless unprincipled flip-flops and you have a stone cold loser. You've been around here a long time. I cannot figure out how you could support the "moderate" (liberal) establishment favorite, Romney.

Are you a Mormon or something?

Given that this is a Gannet paper, I’m surprised that they endorsed a Republican - even for the Republican caucuses. It would have been more understandable if they had endorsed Obama; after all, they would not really see any necessity for an election when Obama is already one of the candidates.

Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

Hardly what I would call the hope/changey Obama message!

The fix is in—You will Vote for Mitt if you like it or not—just as you cast your vote for McCain the last time. Who you going to vote for? Obama? I don’t think so. What go 3rd Party and vote for Ron Paul or Trump or even Sarah Palin? No because a vote for them is a vote for the Democrats. You are cooked. Better start working for Mittens—might want to read up on your Book of Mormon.

Yep - way back when, he made some substantial changes without being in The Seat of Power/Influence. They are scared witless that he might sit in the WH and possibly own both Houses of Congress.

"Given that this is a Gannet paper, I’m surprised that they endorsed a Republican - "

Obviously, for the general, they will endorse the socialist/communist as usual.

Well, if it is Slick Willard vs. Zero, they'll have two to choose from.

Your post was

"This one thread tells me volumes about why Newt Gingrich is reviled: he has said he will change the way Washington works."

How is lobbying for Fannie and Freddie changing Washington?
