Tucker Carlson: GOP Should Ask Themselves Why Does This 70-ish Weird Guy Have All This Support
Mediaite ^ | December 21, 2011 | James Crugnale

On Wednesday morning’s Red Eye, host Greg Gutfeld asked The Daily Caller‘s Tucker Carlson about Ron Paul’s surge in Iowa. “What happens if Paul wins Iowa? I wrote panic!”

“Maybe Republicans (should) ask themselves why does this 70-ish weird guy have all of this support?” Carlson questioned. “What is he saying that’s resonating? And how do we address those concerns? Maybe people do care about the fed – soft money maybe they are not happy with Afghanistan. I mean, think it through a little bit!”

Later, during the show’s regular Halftime Report segment, Andy Levy theorized that people liked Paul because they enjoyed “the racist newsletters.”

“They are huge,” Carlson added. “Kids love the racist newsletters.”

“It is an under served market!” Levy exclaimed.

“Look at the guy!” Carlson graciously observed. “There has never been a more poorly marketed candidate.”

He’s a mash-up of Pat Paulsen & Lyndon LaRouche.

Because there is quite a large number of the Republican Party members that are domestically libertarian and even if not outright isolationist are very disturbed with our continual international intervention. While other candidates talk about limiting the growth of government, or even cutting a department or two (heard it before and watched their budgets balloon even more), Ron Paul talks about cutting a trillion dollars out of the budget next year.

Just punks from any party that want legalized drugs.

You’d have to be on drugs to want Ron Paul in the first place.

It’s easy to be the pure conservative (Bachmann or Santorum) or say the easy and popular stuff (Paul) when you know darn well that you don’t have to worry about ever being held accountable for it.

Everybody else actually has to consider the possible consequences of their positions knowing that someday they might have to implement or fight for what they promised they would fight for.

It’s an age old political game. If you’re going to have to implement your promises, you can say what you want to get the applause of the masses.

people are frustrated with both parties that dont really want to do anything.

Ron Paul is a guy disgusted by government and his disgust sounds real.

Maybe there are people in the Republican party that actually care about the erosion of Individual Liberty in this country, an idea that never gets talked about in the election cycle.

Tucker stop being a dumbass....

Paul is leading in Iowa because it’s a caucus state rather than a primary state

He is buying most of his votes and support though his paulbots

If he wins..... There is no wind in his sails to carry him in any other state
