.

Ed Rollins - world’s worse political consultant

He criticizes the candidate he works for

He goes on MSNBC and sells out

.

" The problem with Bachmann is that she was all too eager to hop on some of the attacks the MSM was pushing against some of the candidates, and she was pushing some ridiculous attacks. The attacks didn't serve to make her look better, they served to bring other candidates down."

Exactly.

P.S.

If you don't vote for "candidate X", it's the same as voting for Obama.

And, If you don't vote for "candidate X", it's the same as voting for Hitler.

And, if you don't place a write-in vote for Zombie Reagan, it's the same as voting for the Antichrist to come and condemn the living to an earthly Hell of unending torment for ten thousand years. You don't want that on your conscience, do you?

And if you don't vote for MY favorite candidate, then you molest collies.

well, he won’t be looking so good in sc and fl if he loses big in ia and nh. Ask Rudy how the wait for the later contests strategy worked out for him.

Couple of problems with your analysis above. First, Rudy did nothing in Iowa, NH or SC and tried to charge out of the gates in Florida. That's not analagous at all to Newt or anyone else this cycle. Newt will do much better in those states than a non entity Rudy did. Second, Rudy seemed to quit campaigning hard for some reason. And third, I think the influence of NH and Iowa is lessening each cycle. McCain won SC because of the lazy uninformed electorate of 08 on the Republican side and the knee jerk military vote. I think SC voters will be very engaged this season. Then McCain won Florida on top of that. I think fighting the last war (comparing 08) is dangerous. I think almost nothing is the same now as 08.

So I guess you are right. Bachmann, Perry, and Gingrich should drop out now, and support Santorum, the 3rd-place candidate who actually is conservative.

First, go read Mr. Wright's post in reply #59

Santorum and Bachmann have no chance. They have no money or organization outside of Iowa. Any success they have in Iowa will not translate nationally/down state (where they are stuck in the statistical noise). Perry isn't in much better shape and a tie for last (where's he's at today - discounting Huntsman) in Iowa is going to make a miracle come back even more improbable.

You can caterwaul about it all you want. Doesn't matter.

Cling to you favorite non-viable. All that serves is to make Mitt's split the Not-Romney strategy a success.

Newt is in 1st nationally, top three in IA and NH in 90% of the polling, and up double digits in the deciding states of SC & FL — with $10,000,000 (90% raised in the 4th quarter) in the bank for ads there.

McCain finished 4th in IA.

You worry too much.

Say what you like, vote for who you like.

In the meantime, re-read the "crazy" comment you responded to and SKIP the sentence where I say that Newt is not a conservative.

For the purpose of this lesson, I am willing stipulate that Newt IS a conservative.

Either way, just pretend that one sentence isn't there, and ask yourself if that one sentence was the point of my comment.

I never kept up with Palin much but her supporters may get a kick out of Ed Rollins deserting Michelle. Didn't they believe Michelle 'sicced' him on Sarah at one time?

I do think Michelle is the most elegant speaker.......it's just what she says that goes wrong.

Then, what's your REAL problem?

Get your head out of your Iowass — he leads nationally still. The world does NOT revolve around Iowa. Just short sighted folks in late December and early January every four years.

Oh, And neither straw men, nor appeals to authority work on me either.

No one was appealing to authority - and your misuse of the term straw men - something we should all be able to use correctly in the age of Obama - makes me question your capacity. The point is this, many great conservatives of far greater cred than you consider Newt an effective, if imperfect, conservative. Therefore your shallow sound bytes and talking points are meaningless. And I'm not appealing to you, I am appealing to those perusing the debate and using you as a mere foil.

the type of "conservative" keeping the conservative vote "fractured" with ILLOGICAL ARGUMENTS based on BEGGING THE QUESTION

or, I should add, any other logical fallacy, such as APPEALS TO CONSEQUENCES, APPEALS TO FEAR, APPEALS TO POPULARITY etc., etc., etc.

Again, I am confronted with the fact that I am in the wrong place at the worst possible time. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

THAT is an appeal to authority.
