Newt’s campaign is sinking faster than the Titanic.

Well, I hate to burst your bubble,.......BUT How would you prefer us to pronounce the name of the inevitable nominee you seem to have contributed so much to help win?

Mitt Romney, Willard Mittens, Romney, or just plain Mittzie?

So I guess you are right. Bachmann, Perry, and Gingrich should drop out now, and support Santorum, the 3rd-place candidate who actually is conservative.

Bachmann's reponse:

Michele Bachmann responds to Kent Sorenson defection to Ron Paul campaign

Doesn't sound like she'll be getting out... At least before Iowa...

Ideologically I like MB a lot. Almost everything else about her drives me to drink, however.

“Bachmann statement: “Sorenson personally told me he was offered a large sum of money to go to work for the Paul campaign.””

Now it makes sense. Paul has praised traitors as heroes recently. The question is, did Paul pay him off or someone else like Soros who wants that racist crackpot screwing up the GOP process. Maybe we can also add “sleazy” to the traits of Paul.

But, not our man, Newt, right? I WILL VOTE MY CONSCIENCE.

A VOTE FOR SANTORUM IS NOT A VOTE FOR ROMNEY NOR OBAMA

A VOTE FOR BACHMANN IS NOT A VOTE FOR ROMNEY NOR OBAMA

A VOTE FOR ROMNEY IS NOT A VOTE FOR OBAMA; BUT IT IS NOT A VOTE FOR A CONSERVATIVE.

A VOTE FOR GINGRICH IS NOT A VOTE FOR A CONSERVATIVE.

YOU, sir, are the type of "conservative" keeping the conservative vote "fractured" with illogical arguments based on begging the question.

If you agree with Newt's positions, then you should vote for Newt. (you should also stop referring to yourself as a "conservative", but I digress)

And, should Romney win the nomination because YOU were too irrational and obstinate to vote for a conservative, then YOU will be to blame for nominating Romney.

And, should Obama defeat Romney because Romney fails to make a clear case for conservatism, then YOU will be to blame for re-electing OBAMA!!

Hmmm? .... What's that? .... Speak up.

Ooohh, you don't like that argument when it's used against you? It doesn't make any sense, you say?

But it makes perfect sense when YOU use it, for YOUR purposes, for YOUR candidate, ... doesn't it?

AAANNNNDDD, another thing ..... Newt can't win.

Why not, you ask?

Well, because nobody but you is going to vote for him, of course.

What's that? ... Why isn't anyone going to vote for Newt?

Why, because he can't win, Silly!

Huh?

You don't like THAT piece of irrational claptrap, illogical nonsense, typically leftist, non-argument EITHER?!?

Boy! Tough crowd.

The problem with Bachmann is that she was all too eager to hop on some of the attacks the MSM was pushing against some of the candidates, and she was pushing some ridiculous attacks. The attacks didn't serve to make her look better, they served to bring other candidates down.

And some of her attacks were incompetent - she was going after Perry on Gardasil over spurious claims it caused retardation when a competent campaign would have realized the real story was that Merck hired Perry's good friend and former Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to lobby Perry to sign the order sot hat Merck (and Toomey) would rake in a bunch of money. You have to be really incompetent to miss that story.

She of all people should have been less hesitant to jump on some of the attacks the media was pushing against other candidates, especially against Cain, since the media did the same thing to her, planting suggestions that she was some religious nut, etc.

I like Michelle, I wanted her to be doing better, but I can't but think that she brought a lot of this on herself - what comes around, goes around.

well, he won’t be looking so good in sc and fl if he loses big in ia and nh. Ask Rudy how the wait for the later contests strategy worked out for him.

the problem is we have too many non-Romneys. They all need to get together and decide on one of them. Hopefully IA and NH thin the herd and by SC we have one solid person to get behind. In tha situation, I think they’d beat Romney rather comfortably.

you also assume that there won’t be someone else who would declare and start running in say Feb/Mar once the field is much smaller. I’m not saying it will happen. But it could. I can think of a few folks who may fit the bill for that.

I’m not worried about it. If Gingrich falls as I suspect he will, conservatives are NOT going to go to Paul, so either Santorum or Perry WILL get their votes in South Carolina.

And if Gingrich does NOT fall down, eventually Perry and Santorum should be gone, and Gingrich will get all the non-Romney votes, even those of us who think he’s not very conservative and might well be unelectable.

We haven’t taken a vote yet, so let’s not give up and support McCain the Second just to stop Mitt.

Your rant against Newt is the kind of rant that Thomas Sowell makes fun of. That kind of rant would infuriate Reagan. Did Newt stray off the plantation intellectually while out of office? He sure did, and it was frustrating.

But he was damned effective in office and has some great plans if elected and he is absolutely the best at arguing for conservatism against any liberal. He has a 90% lifetime conservative rating and he forced Bill Clinton to govern far more to the right than did GWB with Newt’s replacement, Dennie Hastert, as Speaker.

But rant on. I’ll go out on a limb with Thomas Sowell and the father of REaganomics and some others. Just sayin....

Agreed. Hopefully conservatives will unite behind a conservative not-Romney candidate who is not Romney Lite, like Newt Gingrich.

" I hate to burst your bubble, but your boy Newt is rapidly moving toward second-tier status. "

Actually, he is in 4th place in some polling behind Rick Santorum.

Have you ever considered that the people who conspired to murder President Kennedy and the Americans who conspired to plan 9-11 may be the same ones conspiring to stop Newt Gingrich? lol.
