If one doubted Sarah Palin wields great power by virtue of her charisma and persona, that notion was laid to rest during her speech at the CPAC convention when she had the overflow audience on their feet numerous times.
None of the presidential candidates, least of all front-runner Mitt Romney, got anywhere near that warm of reception. Newt Gingrich, who delivered a classic speech filled with ideas, came closest. But Gingrich has faltered somewhat in his presidential run. Romney still won the CPAC straw poll, likely because he filled the venue with enough of his supporters to pull off a plurality win.
Speaking of Romney, according to Politico, Palin had a warning. Palin and hence conservatives in general are not convinced of his authentic right wing credentials. The Romney campaign is doubtless taking note. It has to try harder to close the deal, to prove the Romney of Massachusetts is in the past and Romney the candidate has grown and evolved rightward. If he cannot do this, he will not be president.
Palin has proven herself the most powerful female politician in the world. Angela Merkel runs a country and has a little influence in Europe. Hillary Clinton's name used to be on the lips of people in the same sentence as "president of the United States." But no one else can speak and shake the corridors of power to the foundation as can Palin
From inveighing against "death panels" in Obamacare to crony capitalism in Washington, Palin has shaped the political agenda is more profound ways that one would imagine a private citizen who has the bottom half of a failed presidential campaign who was hounded out of office could achieve.
And, like Ronald Reagan before her, Palin has the power to drive a certain type of person insane....

The actual REAL constituents at the conventions were the ones in the audience when the REAL speakers spoke. ;~)
Yep. Good thing for her that she's already done all that stuff about a half a dozen times already, huh?
Where can we see her detailed position and policy papers on the ME, the WOT, jobs, the deficit, energy, China, EU's debt crisis, Russia/Iran...etc...? Please direct us to them.
Sorry spunky but a really good speech that was not seen by very many voters and is already forgotten in the news cycle does not a power-player make.
Now, if she were on the stump, giving that speech day after day in town after town....but she isn't.
If he actually wins (let's keep working for him not to win), you can bet she will work for him to beat Obama. Like Mark Levin says, he would vote for an orange juice can over Obama, it's a no brainer.
Well I see you are back. Leopards never change their spots. This nation sends out nearly a trillion dollars for foreign energy each year. What part of 'drill -baby- drill' escapes your sophisticated mind? Our positioned and policy wonks send our blood and treasury over to the ME to do what exactly? Sarah has been chewed up and spit out like garbage, blood libeled by the criminal left and the PROUD GOP Establishment. And you want her to detail positions and policy papers. Lord have mercy on US because too few of US have even the wisdom of fruit flies.
And, how about those other nuisance issues, like; jobs, debt, budget deficits, EU melt down, Russia/Iran, China, WOT, Israel, MidEast/MB, Chavez, immigration, Mexico border wars, Korea, trade wars, Social Security shortfalls.....
Do you really believe that giving a speech to a friendly crowd every few months takes more than actually getting into the ring and working these issues in the public eye week after week.....do you?
Women are presidents or prime ministers of countries like Germany, India, Brazil and Argentina.
Can you like her or love her without exaggerating?
A) I’m not the author of this piece and (B) see my post #10.
Please point to Gov. Mitt Romney and/or Sen. Rick Santorum's position papers, quotes, speeches, etc. on these subjects, if you are able.
She talks a good game. But until she gets back into the trenches and starts to go over the top, she is just talk.
I’m a big Palin fan, but this article doesn’t do justice to Merkel.
