Several high-powered names have been bandied about for a possible No. 2 on the GOP presidential ticket.
Sarah Palin, the Republicans' last VP nominee, on Saturday threw out a new one - Florida Rep. Allen West.
"I would like to see considered for the VP Col. Allen West," she told Fox News. "In this tumultuous time ... he served in the military and has intimate knowledge of the way the military works and should work by having a close family member serve. Someone like that."
Palin isn't ruling out another run herself on the ticket, should she be asked. "It is not a no. I'm not saying no. But what I am saying is if I were in a GOP presidential candidate's shoes, I would look to Col. Allen West."
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are among the other names that have been floated as potential running mates....

What is this “it” that you speak of? Bullying the Israelis? Yes, she was pretty good at that. No Hillary Clinton, mind you, but passable. I worked for the Carter and Reagan administrations and later for General Al Haig. She was a decent Soviet analyst, I’ll give her that, but she’s to the left of John McCain or Milt on many issues.
Like I already said, Condi knows how to stay on message, how to follow orders, how to be a team player. If Romney, or RIck or Newt, were to interview her and they didn’t feel it would work, then she would not be asked to join the ticket.
But once asked, she would bring a lot to a ticket that would help win in November. Defeating Obama is the name of the game. Condi would destroy Biden in the Veep debate. I would love to see it!
As for gay marriage, etc, well we can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube. I don’t like homos and lesbians but it’s here to stay until the majority of voters have a change of heart and convince the politicians and courts to agree with them. Dick Cheney...I guess you think he’s a squish on the gay issue too, eh?
Newt will be in my town Tuesday. I’m going to see him. Can’t wait. He will be at the Space & Rocket Center in Rocket City USA . . . last time I went to a rally there was when the Tea Party Express stopped in town.
