Pelosi Hammers GOP on Limbaugh
Texas Insider ^ | March 5, 2012 | Daniel Strauss

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Republicans are now stuck being associated with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh calling a Georgetown law student a “slut.”

Democrats have been hammering Limbaugh and Republicans since the radio host criticized Sandra Fluke, the student, for stressing the importance of birth control during a congressional hearing on President Obama’s contraceptive mandate.

Limbaugh called Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” because he said she was effectively asking taxpayers for money for contraception.

On Thursday, Democrats urged House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to publicly denounce Limbaugh’s statement.

“They won’t disassociate themselves from it. They’re tattooed with that,” Pelosi said in an interview with Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent. “I wouldn’t want those words repeated in my office.”

In the same interview, Pelosi also went after Republicans for their opposition to the contraception mandate, which requires employers to provide contraception in their healthcare plans without a co-pay or deductible.

Churches and houses of worship are exempt from the mandate, and the White House has offered an “accommodation” for groups affiliated with religious institutions, such as Catholic hospitals. Those entities do not have to provide contraception, but their employees must be able to get the contraception through the employer’s insurer.

“They don’t believe in a government role except when it comes to women exercising her conscience on an issue like that,” Pelosi said. “People who choose to marry and find comfort with each other — they decide that government should step in there. But clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety, public education, public health, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security — they want to end the government role.”

A day earlier, the Senate tabled legislation that would allow employers to opt out of the mandate if they oppose it on religious or moral grounds.

The White House has not deciphered how its accommodation will work in cases when the faith-based institution and the insurer are one in the same.

Fake outrage or downright lie?????

“Pelosi said in an interview with Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent. “I wouldn’t want those words repeated in my office.”

Pelosi’s office late Thursday night......the heated, sometimes profane, exchanges were described as “ugly” by Democrats on both sides of the Capitol. Staff, kicked out in the hall, could hear the yelling, and Pelosi herself seemed a little abashed the next day

The people at NPR never, ever call people sluts. That is inflammatory language and it is wrong. They DO however receive tax dollars to call us "seriously racist, racist people". Yet on that Pelosi remained silent.

The hypocrisy of the left is astounding.

Sandra Fluke, the student

Nope. Fluke is a Dem "Women's Rights Activist" (FemiNazi) plant.

And THIS is NOT about "birth control" it is a direct assault on Religious Freedom granted by God and stated in the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Go away. SLUT!

It doesn't make sense. Pelosi set that false testimony up and now she's mad at the outcome?

Rush Limbaugh is not an elected official.

He is a private citizen.

Congress has no authority over him.

So in her botox-addled mind Congress is supposed to publicly denounce a radio show host for some idiot voluntarily calling in and then voluntarily revealing her identity?

Ms. Fluke was not coerced into calling, and I highly doubt anyone specifically asked her to do so. Ms. Fluke was not obligated to identify herself on the air. If she wanted to attempt to convince Rush of her warped freakshow agenda, she could have said “I’m Suzy from Sheboygan” or “Priscilla from Pensacola” and said whatever stupid thing she wanted.

Ms. Fluke is a liberal activist pushing an agenda. This controversy is not worth anyone’s time other than to shame the idiot involved. To invoke Boehner to denounce Rush shows what a fool Ms. Pelosi is.

Nancy would have some credibility if she were to also call for Bill Maher’s removal from HBO... the immediate cancelation of Special Ed’s pMSNBC & radio gigs... etc etc ad infinitum.

The communists will never be defeated at the ballot box, especially after they have succeeded in enfranchising the entire populace.

Collapse is inevitable, but the Republic will be back with a vengeance.

Marxists beware.
