Democrat Clute endorses GOP candidate in targeted Senate seat

Republican Assemblyman Jeff Miller is touting an unusual new endorsement in his bid for the targeted 31st Senate District: a former Democratic rival.

Miller's campaign announced today that Steve Clute, the former Democratic assemblyman who came in third in the June 5 primary for the Inland Empire seat, has endorsed him over Democratic candidate Richard Roth.

"Although our party of preference means ideologically we may not agree on every issue, one thing I know is Jeff Miller will stand up for Riverside County," Clute said in a statement released by the Miller campaign. "Voters can trust that Jeff will stand up for us..."

The Rat nominee, Richard Roth, is the union favorite. This race is essential to the Democrats gaining a 2/3 majority in the California Senate.

I really hope Miller wins.

In this district at least there are a Republican and a dem running.

This stupid new primary system we have now, is ridiculous.
We have district where two dems are running against each other.

The idiots who voted this system in need to slapped along side the head.

Yeah, but two Republicans are running against one another in a +10 Democrat congressional district. So the idiocy is going against them as well.

I knew the dems pushed this change big time.
They must have really believed they would gain 100% control of both houses.
