This is personal (E-Mail from DWS)
E-Mail | September 6, 2012 | Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, chair, DNC

Posted on 09/06/2012 4:33:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In 2007, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. And in 2008, right before the Democratic convention, I had one of seven surgeries I'd have in that year.

Today, I'm a survivor -- but like every survivor, I now have a pre-existing condition. And although I fought and won the toughest battle of my life to beat breast cancer, I could have been denied insurance coverage because of that battle. Now, thanks to Obamacare, millions of Americans like me won't have to worry about going without care because of a pre-existing condition. We can focus on staying healthy.

All this week at our convention, elected officials and everyday Americans have been standing up and sharing how President Obama's policies have profoundly affected their lives. If we don't double down on our efforts to win on Election Day, the other side has made it their mission to roll it all back.

Chip in $5 or more today to support Democrats and protect Obamacare and everything else we've fought for.

For me, for President Obama, and for millions of Americans, this election is personal.

Every time Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and other Republicans say that they'll repeal Obamacare on Day One, I take it personally.

They just don't get it -- this isn't about politics. It's about keeping ourselves and our families healthy and financially secure.

It's so important for us to do everything we can to give Democrats the resources they need to win two months from tonight -- there's just too much at stake not to.

Before President Obama steps on stage tonight to accept our nomination for president for the last time, let him know you're ready to keep on fighting for progress.

Donate $5 or more today:

Thanks,

Debbie

Debbie, tell everyone the truth. You will be exempt from Obamacare. You will get lifetime care from a good doctor. The rest of won’t.

BTW, you aren’t the only one that has survived cancer; but you will have a chance at life; we won’t.

You should be in prison.

Yeah...I just got on the company insurance first of July. Blue Cross sent me a letter today saying my preexisting waiting period ends 07/02/2013.

“This isn’t about politics, it’s about.....keeping ourselves financially secure.”
Every once in awhile, even a perpetual liar screws up and tells the truth.
Democrats - Self-serving, baby-killing thieves.

If it were not for the heavy hand of government in health insurance and health care, health insurance would be true insurance, and medical care would be more accessible and less costly. Everything government touches, it screws up.

More lies from little Debbie. She has top notch insurance that only congress people get!! It can’t be canceled and besides Obamacare is not even in effect. If I were a democrat voter I would be insulted by these constant alternate universe lies these shmucks keep throwing out!! They truly believe that their voters are stupid! Perhaps most of them are.....but surely not all of them.

I’ve been chronically ill since I was 8 years old. I’ve known from the time I was a teenager how dangerous socialized medicine is to someone in my position. One look at England is all she needs to see in order to understand how dangerous this is to her.

Unfortunately, she’s going to find out the hard way, and the rest of us are paying for it.

This misses the whole point. If we owned our insurance policies, like we own our life insurance, car insurance, and fire insurance, the "pre-existing condition" problem wouldn't exist. It exists only because we have to change insurers every time we change jobs, or every time our employer changes insurance carriers.

to make matters worse, of course, government meddling has meant that we don't get true "insurance." Instead we get involved in an income transfer scheme, in which the low-risk people subsidize the high-risk people.

After I married my first wife I took out a life insurance policy on her. She had a health condition that meant a higher premium. The insurance company was right: she died young. Had her parents taken out a policy on her when she was in high school, she wouldn't have had the higher premium. I made sure to take out policies on my children at an age when I could guarantee them a lower premium.

Sorry, New Improved female Anthony Weiner.

I can't waste time listening to an ignorant witch who can't even understand that when insurance is forced to cover pre-existing conditions, it is no longer insurance. It is welfare by another name...
And fraudulently misleading. And specially created to conceal massive fraud and waste.

So just buzz off.

DWS lies again. She's a member of the Congress and has been for many years. She has health insurance under the FEHB plan. All of the providers agree beforehand to ignore prior existing conditions.

Ergo, DWS had medical insurance that took care of her breast cancer problem BEFORE ObamaKKKare came along.

Virtually all employer provided health or medical care insurance was contracted for with providers who agreed to disregard prior conditions.

This is a minority issue ~

DWS gets the same insurance opportunity all members of Congress, Congressional Staff, the entire judiciary and the federal employee work force gets ~ same same.

It's offered through what is known as the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan.

They pay for 28% of the insurance out of pocket with the "Agency" paying the remainder. Federal retirees get the same thing.

Postal workers pay 10% ~

I was at town hall meeting in Tyler Tx and Rep. Louie Gohmert was asked about Congressman health insurance. His response was everyone thinks Congress gets better health insurance coverage but believe me it lousy insurance.
