Your Immediate Action is needed if you are an Ayn Rand / Atlas Shrugged fan.

If you wish to help promote the premier of ATLAS SHRUGGED PART II, remember 10/12/2012.

If we can fill the seats the first week we will be able to get additional showings. If the first week is weak then many theaters will likely (Very Likely) not have a second week.

The mainstream media is keeping TOTALLY quiet on this movie for any (ANY) mention (Positive OR Negative) would alert Republicans, Libertarians, Independants as well as just Atlas Shrugged / The Fountainhead fans - - and you know they do not want any mention made.

It was out long enough for me to take my time last time. No, it won’t get any press or shoot up the charts. But it didn’t for part one, either, and since we git a part two I guess it’s okay.

By the way, you don’t have to support it just because you’re a fan of the book and Rand. They aren’t great; more like mediocre tv movies. I’ll go again because I’ve always (or since I read it at, like, 20) wanted to see it cinematized. But I don’t feel any moral obligation.

What is the website for the movie? I seem to remember that the first release had a website something like atlasshruggedthemovie.com. It had information about the theaters where the movie was going to be shown and the dates.

This is imortant information.

Part #1 didn't play around here, so we had to get the DVD. We passed it around to people we knew. Once they've seen part #1, they want to see what happens next.
It didn't matter what their party affiliation was, we just told them it was a great movie so they'd watch it and hopefully connect the dots.

I have to wonder how they’ll handle the big stuff like the plane crash, Galt’s Gulch, Dr. Stadler’s ray gun, etc. on such a small budget. Computers, I know, but still. So far it’s been all people talking in rooms and some train stuff.

ah contrair.

MANY theaters did close down and showed other movies. Some remained opened.

If you don’t feel obligated you have no reason to worry about the future of America if you would rather stand on the sidelines criticizing others who are trying to make a difference.

Don’t bitch should we lose our country and our freedoms for you have better things to do.

There is nothing short of a 40 hour movie that could possibly cover all the details in the book.

But I don’t feel any moral obligation.

Wouldn't Ayn Rand object to telling people they have a moral obligation to see the movie?

“MANY theaters did close down and showed other movies”

Okay, but I said I had no problems, which was the absolute truth. Obviously other people are a different story. I live in a “metro area” with closeby theaters that play obscure titles. Obviously others are in other circumstances. Also obviously, though, me going opening night will not turn it into The Passion of the Christ.

By the way, the fate if the republic does not hang on Atlas Shrugged, Part II having a few million dollars more or less box office gross. Ot only trivializes our dangers to argue such.

By the way, if you didn’t know the movie industry does not rely on box office as much as they’d have us think. They make most of their money elsewhere. Not that aime don’t make a profit from it alone, especially ones with miniscule budgets like thus. But the second Atlas did not cost 10 million more than the first because of its theatrical run almost certainly.

You can’t cover every detail, but there are certain expectations. It would be breaking an unwritten contract with the audience (that read the book) not to show what I mentioned, for instance. Not that I have a claim upon their laborious to shoot the scenes. But if they want people to come to the third one, they must meet certain expectations.

You've completely lost sight of the fact that you're discussing a movie.

My wife and I saw The Fountainhead many years ago while we were dating. We realized our perspective was aligned and most of our friends went on the path through McGovernism, abortion, sexual license, and worse. After we saw the movie, we read the book. I have tried and failed many times to read more than 10 pages of Atlas Shrugged.

The Fountainhead is a mostly forgettable movie, but one image I do remember is her watching lustfully as he drills rock.
