When edifices – particularly political edifices built around the myth and personality of one man – collapse, they collapse suddenly. The center does not hold. The man dragged from the spider hole isn't a dictator, he's a prisoner. The Master of the Universe hedge fund manager who's really just a Ponzi schemer gets booked at Rikers like the rest of 'em. The spell cast by power, once broken, is hard to restore.

(And no, I'm not comparing Obama to infamous war criminals. I'm examining the way people view organizations centered on a leader, not on an idea, and why they're ultimately fragile.)

In the case of the Obama Personality Cult, we believed the Maximum Leader was more brilliant, more charismatic and more skillful than our own candidate. Sure, he was wrong on the issues, a disaster from start to finish, but we still felt a sense of intimidation. That changed last week

Very very good article.

If Obama wins this thing, those of us who always worked for the improvement of our country may as well start living only for self gratification. If Obama wins this year...it's over.

Are we of the same mind? I don't know. But I know this. I won't contribute to bambis welfare state - I'll quit my job and live in a cardboard box first. But I'm not paying for jemima's kerchief, pedros tortillas, or bubba's grits. I will not comply.

I cannot wait for Romney to open a response in the next debate with “there you go again...”. It would be apropos.

My recollection is that Obama’s numbers picked up and stayed up after his convention, until the debate. The lift was due to Clinton who now may not be too happy with Obama setting Hillary up for the fall on Libya.

Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Last night's performance by Biden – capering, giggling, near-maniacal opera buffa – was targeted in one place: a dispirited, demoralized Democratic base on the edge of panic. Paul Ryan was businesslike, steady, and on-point. He hit solid doubles all night, and that's all he needed to do... If you want a gibbering, snorting, mumbling clown with a rictus-grin locked on his mug a heartbeat away from controlling America's nuclear arsenal, Joe Biden's your guy. Ryan aimed to meet the standard of gravitas and presence, to demonstrate to the fabled female/suburban/swing/moderate voters that he's not a scary granny-killing Terminator sent from the future to throw seniors into the snowbank. He had to demonstrate steadiness, stature and knowledge. Done and done... Biden played to his base, trying to dig Obama out of the hole he's been trapped in since last week's debate trainwreck.
Zero's head's been trapped in a hole for years, but this op-ed is about something else. :') A whiny loser on my FB friends list claimed that Ryan looked like an inexperienced little boy who'd been given some stuff to memorize by his elders (actually, the loser was less articulate than that). Said Ryan doesn't think for himself (which is of course, pure horse****). Then the loser's rapidly shrinking circle of friends ditto'd him. It was a Life of Brian flashback moment for me.

The Bubble has popped. We are looking at a tsunami.

Great article.

They are both very lazy.

Wonder if Biden acts like that when he presides over the Senate.

That would be consistent. He does nothing BUT things that are dangerous to America.

“Does anyone think that it just may have to do with him getting the delegates to deny God three times?”

Might well be.

A thought that popped into my noggin is that Clinton really hurt Obama.

Clinton’s speech “me, I did, I’m great, I was super great, love me... oh yeah, that Obama guy.”

This only strengthens my willingness, my desire to crawl over broken glass to vote against Herr Leader.

I finally broke down and made a donation to Romney's campaign.

I disagree with the author that Romney did anything different. What is overlooked here is the power of “US.” There have been many, many conservatives that have been fighting this battle since the beginning days of the TEA party. I’ve seen how the arsenal of information was built-up and the logistical arrangement of resources was put into place for this exact moment. WE did this. And every time the liberals called us extreme and radical, I know that it made everyone’s blood boil. It just made us more determined to crack the wall of deceit. Yes... WE moved a mountain. But there is still more work to do. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Upcoming debate Tuesday with Candy Crowley? Candy says she knows ALL questions ahead of time and helped select what questions will be asked.

This is no surprise, however WTH
