Women, including ex-Cabinet members, rally behind Romney and 'binder' project

Mitt Romney’s second-in-command when he was governor of Massachusetts and a coalition of women's groups rallied Wednesday behind the Republican presidential nominee in the face of a rapidly expanding Internet phenomenon poking fun at his "binders full of women."

The supporters said Romney, indeed, asked for and received binders with name of potential female candidates for high-level posts -- backing up his claim in Tuesday night's debate that as governor he had reached out to women's groups because he was dissatisfied with the mostly male applicants for jobs in his administration.

Romney's anecdote, in which he recalled receiving "binders full of women," was part of the Republican's efforts to appeal to undecided female voters, a voting bloc that could swing the election.

President Obama's once held a double-digit percentage-point lead with the group. But a recent Gallup survey shows the president just 6 points ahead of Romney among likely women voters....

The Democrats are acting like we are idiots. Perhaps THEIR voters re, but I find this and things like Big Bird, extremely disrespectful to the seriousness of what is going on now.

This is possibly the dumbest issue that I have ever heard from the feminists. It demonstrates their desperation and frankly their inability to come up with any serious reason to support Obama.

I don’t understand why women would be upset about their being put in binders in order to serve their governor.

Liberals are realizing their reign of terror is almost over..they are running out of time, so instead of running on their messiah’s record(Can’t say I blame them, Obama has a failed record) they go after Romney for the “Binders full of women” comment..ANYONE with an IQ above 5 knows that he was talking about the RESUMES that he collected from women to full his Administration positions..he was obviously talking too fast(Because that hippo kept on interrupting him) and he didnt say the word “resume” but anyone with a brain knows what he meant..but hey when your record is absolute poo you have to try to deflect attention

I'm sure this has been said by others, but this is such a non-issue, I don't even understand why the left is harping on it. It certainly doesn't rise to the importance of 10.7% unemployment if the participation rate was what it was in 2009.

Desperation? Even they can't be THIS desperate.

That is exactly why they are harping on it. They don't care how dumb it looks - looking dumb is a better position than being responsible for the list of broken promises, failures, debt and corruption.

To reverse and coin a phrase - they praise themselves with faint damning.

This is a campaign of distraction.

Sure they can!

This is exactly the same group who tried to twist and mock the grassroots group of people who call ourselves Tea Party members into a twisted homosexual sexual slur.

Should I apologise for not knowing of yet another liberal twisted slur involving the word “binder”?

Really?

Wow, this is great! Women will see that Romney walks the talk when he says he concerned about women and their role in the workforce.

I believe that this issue will cause many women to switch their vote to Romney. And let’s not forget to thank obamma and bed-wetters in the MSM for keeping this latest woman’s issue alive after this weeks debate. obamma is helping Romney win over the women, as they consider what was said. Neat!
