Posted on 11/29/2012 10:34:12 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet
The presidential campaign of 2016 was launched as soon as the last light dimmed on the stage after Mitt Romney gave his concession speech, in losing his presidential bid to Barack Obama. With the new battle now warming up amongst the GOP hierarchy there are many Republican leaders who want to point the party leftward, away from Ronald Reagan and his heir apparent Sarah Palin.
That is correct. There is no stuttering here. Sarah Palin may appear to liberals and leftwing pundits, as well as, GOP Washington leaders as yesterdays news. Yet Mitt Romneys loss was not due to conservative steel in his campaign. What is clear is that nearly two million conservatives did not embrace Romneys attempt to skedaddle to the middle road by running away from conservative positions and values. They simply stayed home.
Consider the results of Palins steadfast 2012 primary season effort as she crisscrossed the nation campaigning on behalf of conservative congressional, senatorial officials. The results of Palins efforts are notable, beginning with backing Texas U.S. Senator-elect Ted Cruz. Combine that with eight congressional candidates being elected to congress out of 14, due to Palins endorsement.
Now examine Romneys results. In a general election where Republicans were expected to be more competitive in U.S. Senate races, Republicans actually lost two U.S. Senate seats. There are many who have engaged in a lot of finger pointing in order to place blame for the loss, but the buck does stop at the top with Mitt Romney...

If she has any intention whatsoever of running, I’d greatly prefer that she make that clear as soon as possible. Not really interested in getting strung along again . . .
The ducks are crossing the highway.
The ducks are crossing the highway.
You poor dear. Bless your heart.
Not if the RNC has anything to do with it. I believe she’s been told and the reason is she’ll call out the corruption on both sides of the aisle - in fact already has and this has earned her the animosity of the ruling class.
We The People could elect her except that the media did too good a job trashing her already.
This has become a corrupt country full of stupid people.
Yes unless she was born in Asia or Kenya.
See my tagline.
But why would she want to? Even here i=on FR there are those still afflicted by PDS.....
A true southern gentleman........
The only way she has a chance, assuming there is an election in ‘16, is to abandon the GOP and go third party.
The GOPe doesn’t want her, the ‘conservative’ talking heads won’t stand up for her, and the Republican Party won’t find a way to combat voter fraud from what I understand. Therefore SP has no chance at all as a GOP candidate.
However, if/when she did make that decisive move to stake her claim in another party, I guarantee millions would follow and support her. Many more millions would soon follow. And so would the money.
One thing she has going for her, is a slew of conservative office holders and Governors who owe her.
In all seriousness, whoever plans on running in 2016 had ought to start getting their campaign machinations in place now. One lesson learned from 2012 was that Romney was able to finally secure the nomination in big part to the fact that he had more or less been running for the past 6 years with a well-oiled (and financed) machine behind him.
I’m betting an 0bamatollah E.O. says there won’t be a 2016 presidential election.
I don’t think you’ll see any real return of a constitutional republic short of revolution/overthrow/CW.
The imam and his fatso wife are already gearing up to the turd world strongman lifestyle. Or old Romania’s.
Sarah was a big disappointment. She was AWOL when we needed her. She was AWOL completing her governor’s term. She put her stupid family on reality TV. Having said that she has the right big ideas. Shed needed to step up to the plate and be our leader like Margaret Thatcher. Now we have lost the country and have to fend for ourselves as conservatives!
I agree. I also note that through the fall Palin noted several times in the course of her Fox News appearances that Romney had been running for so very long.
I think in 2008, when the Party bought all those clothes for her family, then the MSM made a stink about it, when she in contrast glanced over to the McCain family she noted that it’s a lot easier to run at the national level if your family has adequate personal resources.
She took to fixing that fairly deliberately, and my guess is that this time around, one way or another, she’ll take to getting a prospective campaign in order early.
I left the Democrat party when it moved too far to the left. It seems the Republican have also been moving to the left and so it is time I leave the Republican party.
For years I was against the idea of a third party because it would only weaken the Republicans, split the vote and result in a loss. Not anymore. The elite leadership has made it clear it no longer shares the values of their more conservative members. They want our money, our support and our vote, but not our values.
I am not going to say there is no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. The Democrats want to change our nation into a socialist utopia quickly, while the Republican elites want to change our nation into a socialist utopia slowly. So there is a difference.
I live in California, I am a conservative and I doubt if my one vote changed anything in the 45 years I have been voting.
So going third party is not going to matter in the short term. In the long term perhaps it will. I just no longer know.
I will be changing my party affiliation soon.
On to the question, is a third party viable? Yes. Political parties have gone out of style and have died off only to be replaced by something else.
I think one of the primary purpose of a political party is to allow like minded people to band together and use their combined influence to provide opposition to those with different views and to their agenda passed.
Currently the Democrat and the Republican party only seem to differ in the speed of our destruction.
The Republican party is no longer and obstruction to the Democrats. For all practical purposes they no longer exist anyway.
A conservative third party would at least give us a voice that we do not have now. I still believe we are the majority in this nation, we just do not have a focal point to make that truth clear. A conservative third party may just do that. Besides, what do we have to lose that we are not losing anyway?
We simply CANNOT nominate a CONSERVATIVE.
It is ordained in the stars that the GOP must ForEVER nominate milquetoast “centrists” who gracefully but firmly throw each and every election.
Nicely, of course.
Bush I, Ford, Dole, RINORomney,...............etc.
well, it would be nice if she would get more experience...in another 4 years, that will be nearly 7-1/2
years since she quit being Governor of Alaksa. Does she really have enough qualifications?
Spot on analysis. Obama is part of the toxic admix of big government and big business. It's 21st century fascism. Think how with the economic meltdown, Obama and the Fed threw money to the banks; not the defaulted mortgage holders. Now, with Obamacare, he's throwing billions at big insurance companies by forcing everyone to buy health insurance. It is all just too cozy an arrangement to have a real reformer like Palin come in and break up the insider game of the ruling elites.
If there is a 2016 Presidental election, it will surprise the hell out of me. Incase you missed it, the Democrat Party perfected the method to steal elections in 2012. From this point on, the only Republicans elected will be the ones approved by the Democrat Party.
While Governor Palin is a great conservative, and was more qualified than Zero at doing anything, the Republicans must put forward an experienced, serious candidate. Agree that a couple of years as Governor of Alaska doesn’t cut it. She’s made the money, time to do serious work again. Reagan was Governor of California for 8 years after his acting career. While Governor, he spoke at a YMCA youth model legislature I attended - urged us to get substantial real world experience before public service through elected offices. The presidency is the ultimate - and requires more than she currently has. Endorsing like minded candidates is no substitute for actual leadership in running a state or effectively legislating in Congress.
Let the games begin...
“I just no longer know.” - Applies to a lot of us is my guess. - My current conclusion, for what it’s worth, is that the governments of man are overall CORRUPT. . and, yes, I do believe the Almighty has a solution for that, one that is closer than we think. . at hand . . ‘til then we just have to trudge along as best we can.
Depends on whether family Palin can get more reality TV shows sold.
A similar pattern to 2008 and 2012 is already developing.
Hinters on the conservative side: Santorum, DeMint, Paul, Rubio.
Hinters from the GOPe side: Jeb Bush
Some 15 others have indicated some interest.
GOPe Goal: Keep at least 2-4 strong conservatives in to cancel each other out, thus giving Jeb the win!!!!!!
Jeb the winner — in the primaries; Jeb the loser in the general. The Bush name is TOXIC. Even in the 2016 exit polls, around 54% are still blaming the bad economy on Bush.
Will there even be an election in 2016—or will it be a Democrat selection as it was this time? Lets see who the GOP can nominate that will ensure a Van Jones Victory? David Duke? Jeb Bush? How about Romney again? Sarah Palin has become such a joke to the Liberal/Democrats that her selection would mean another %5 Victory for the Progressives. They will put up a cool, black woman, who is good on TV—or run Obama for a 3rd Term after he “saves” the nation. He can —at will change the constitutional amendment—by decree and his supreame Court will rubber stamp it as it did Obama care. I have lost faith in the GOP—they exist as a Straw Man to lose to the Left.
Perhaps at the head of the Tea Party ticket if we finally get smart and kick the GOP to the curb.
I agree with everything you wrote.
My opinion is, a campaign takes longer than one thinks. Palin should mention she’s thinking about it, which will allow her to start getting things together.
And that will likewise, get those of us on the sidelines, enthused.
How about it Sarah? You had four years now with your family. That is wonderful and (everyone) understands your reasons for standing down last time.
Now is the time.
Sarah Palin for US Senate 2014! Take back the Ted Stevens seat!
Mrs. Palin COULD enter the 2016 race all day long, but she won’t win. It is time for new blood!
I really wish Palin would have ran for the Senate. Perhaps it is not too late.
That is why she did not run in 2012 & that's why she won't run in 2016.
Palin is nearly over-qualified to be US president. Have a look:
Sarah Palin is as (or even more) qualified to be president than anyone we currently have on our bench:
Reagan won't win. It's time for new blood!
Sarah Palin is brave, unafraid and proud of America. She is great, the medias and her own party undercut her regularly.
Republicans have this idea that it is more important to let the next man in line have his turn at running than it is to win. STUPID way to lose over and over. Bush W was not in the line up very long.
Sarah has been loyal to McCain when his team deliberately kept her under wraps, she was effective and they side tracked her.
My opinion is she was all set to run last year and she was steam rolled by the media and her own party!!! unbelievably so. Attacked at every turn. There is a level at which it is wise to realize the odds are against her from the start. My opinion they were scared of her ... BIG TIME!
She has my vote based on what I know about her. I have a cousin living in Anchorage, He consistently says she is the real deal, ... he was raised in Oklahoma and has been in Alaska for 30 years or more. He had an airport in Anchorage for a number of years. and worked for FFA in Oklahoma city at Tinker Air force base and was a flight inspector (sorry I forgot his title). He appraised the performance on various flights, as to the keeping necessary procedures, etc.. Retired now.
God help us to be a nation that loves Thee and worships Thee and serves Thee, in Jesus name. Let not evil prevail in Americas government which is acting against the peoples. Remove them or change their minds. We must be free to be Christian and speak freely about Thee. Help us LORD we pray. We thank Thee for Thy forgiveness, grace and mercy and loving kindness. Amen.
Yeah Sarah Palin!
Won’t make a lick of difference without first conquering vote fraud.
There are a number of reasons that I do not believe that she would win, or that she shouldn't even run. I am a woman, I don't want a woman to run this country. She has said that she doesn’t want the job. She has a family, one of which is a special needs child to raise. And, again Conservatives need need new blood.
BTW, my husband is from Oklahoma. His mother and a number of other relatives worked at Tinker for years. He agrees with me.
She will not only enter it but win it too. Sarah Palin will be the next president of the USA.
She will not only enter it but win it too. Sarah Palin will be the next president of the USA.
We need to understand what changed between Indianola and October 3, 2011. Only about 30 days.
She will be installed in the White House when Marine expeditionary forces retake the capital.
Anyhow, it's good she didn't run, seeing as the Communists had the vote rigging down to a science. That mixed with our 50% degenerate electorate can not be overcome in conventional ways.
Our future remains murky.
Heard that before.
What seems to have been the problem?
It doesn’t matter who we run. It doesn’t matter who they run. The maninsream media has proved to be the real opponent we ran against, once again. Until low information voters get the truth, we can’t win. Ever.
