State Rep. Joe Mitchell, D-Mobile, had an outlandish exchange via email with a Jefferson County man who asked him and other lawmakers not to pass any laws that would restrict gun ownership.
Eddie Maxwell sent a mass email to state legislators late on Jan. 27, warning them that even attempting to introduce a gun control bill was, in his opinion, a violation of state law.
Mitchell responded from his public, ALHouse.gov email account an hour later, telling Maxwell: "Your folk never used all this sheit (sic) to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed (sic), imported criminal-minded kin folk."
"That’s not the type of reply I expect to receive from a state legislator," Maxwell replied on Feb. 11. "I’m not a racist and I find your reply to be especially offensive considering the position you hold."
Copies of the email exchange were provided to AL.com by state lawmakers who were included in the correspondence. The emails are printed below, edited only to remove the specific addresses.
Mitchell, who is black, did not respond to email and telephone messages from AL.com seeking comment this week. He told the Associated Press today that he was explaining that citizens who descended from slaves and were disenfranchised by the state constitution have a different view of history and the constitution than white citizens.
Maxwell, who is white, verified that he wrote the messages sent from his email address and said he was "surprised at the racial tones" in Mitchell's responses.........

Where is Mitchell’s outrage over black gun crime?
To borrow a phrase from a certain Alabamian, “there is not a dime’s worth of difference ... “ between a po’ white Alabamian and a po’ black Alabamian. They both believe in the same God, they both like to hunt, and they both fiercely defend their families.
Rep Mitchell and Rep Maxwell probably have more in common than they have in difference.
Don’t have to as they speak for themselves. Just like the subject of the article.

I don't know if you're doing it intentionally or not, but you're pushing a dangerous meme here. Not every black person is feral or violent, and not all of them support the racist black Socialist agenda.
Nor do all of them dislike whites.
Which white citizens? The ones with the ambition and brain power to build the state he's living in and the constitution his descendents could never have created?

55 years as a southerner from a pro black voting rights family who spent half a life in west Africa, NYC, Miami, Haiti, most of black Latin America and the Caribbean
And grew up surrounded by kind black folks who assisted our family business and household and whom we employed and advanced way beyond customary in those days even to the point of Klan threats.and action...whose father and grandfather though rich refused to join the Citizens Council
And lived long enough to see it all go to total hell in a hand basket replaced by something worse

I have no idea who you're talking about there. The subject of the article is a dyed-in-the-wool, racist black man. The black men who post on FR are that man's exact opposite, and I highly doubt that any of them harbor the slightest resentment toward Southern white men.

Not even close. I’m not black. My people fought in the Union Army.My great-grandfather left Ireland a founded an all black labor union in Newark. My Dad was bricklayer(union) and it’s treasurer at one time. Men would often come to our house to pay their dues, lots of them black men. I went to high school in Newark, an all boys school. I had lots of black classmates. My late grand father and friends of his used to go bust up Klan rallies in Shrewsbury NJ.

On southern threads we indeed have pretty angry black men
Some have been exposed over the years as agent provocateurs spreading racial slurs to shame posters or the forum
One private freepmail was traced to a Maryland black moderate GOP group....around 2002....that was alleging to be from white freepers using racial vitriol directed at known black posters including a known black female posters
These are on the steady threads where any southern white who doesn’t offer repentance and apology is labeled neo confederate and that my ancestors were as bad as Nazis and should have all man woman and child been hanged
Yet we are the most reliable conservative bloc in the country....90% in deep south..it gets tiring
And yes we do not just get it from black freepers....most truly openly black posters stay out of it

Now its 85% and horrible
Much of Newark ain’t a lot better....I lived in Manhattan back when LES still sucked and safety ended at west 125 and east 96
Lived at morningside and 115 and even then there were areas crazy for me to go
My hometown now is largely the same way
Racial progress leaves a lot to be desired and given the once vaunted black middle class didn’t turn out to become conservative much
But aside from crime corruption and cultural slide immigration will in time make black issues less significant..
It will be the same problematic minority demographic liberal voting bloc blaming whites
They will likely fight between themselves over the spoils
