Palin and Brewer talk immigration reform

Gov. Jan Brewer and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin put their best feet forward Saturday afternoon in an effort tackle one of Arizona's biggest issues.

"We're here highlighting the problem of child abuse and doing all that we can to strike it out," said Palin.

However, Saturday's conversation wasn't just about protecting our children. It was also about protecting our border.

This week immigrants living in this country illegally will likely find out what they need to do to become U.S. citizens. Lawmakers are days away from announcing details of the most sweeping immigration reform bill this country's seen in a quarter century.

"There needs to be truth in this issue. The American public can't keep being told that the border is as secure as ever or more secure than ever when that is not true," said Palin.

Gov. Brewer and former Gov. Palin said they are anxious to see exactly what lawmakers in Washington have come up in regards to immigration reform....

Amnesty is amnesty, and 40% of illegals are here by overstaying visas, not by illegally crossing a border.

The ‘law makers’ are coming up with new voters that they need to retain power. Period.

Liberals: people who are willing to call abandoning the rule of law in controlling our borders “reform”, to call a bill that will endanger law-abiding citizens and flagrantly violate the Bill of Rights “The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act”, and to call a bill that will dramatically lower the quality of medical care while accelerating price increases the “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”. Liberals are liars (they’re evil too, but remember that they cannot be trusted at any time on any question).

We need a “Universal Gun Control and Firearms Safety Act of 2013” that requires the immediate destruction of all paper and electronic records of firearms sales including government records 90 days after the sale; repeals all gun laws including open/concealed carry prohibitions, eliminates registration and taxes on silencers and short-barrel rifle/shotgun restrictions; repeals all state and local restrictions on firearms except penalties for the use of a firearm in an otherwise criminal act; and requires universal training in breath control, trigger control, and sight picture. Our title is a whole lot more honest than the far left’s titles, and our law would actually make America safer instead of endangering us as the liberals prefer.

Rather wishy-washy stance by both.

Palin said: “There needs to be truth in this issue. The American public can’t keep being told that the border is as secure as ever or more secure than ever when that is not true.”

[Duh! Insert pic of Captain Obvious.]

Brewer did say: “The ranchers and law enforcement on the border, when they say the border is secure then I think we can move forward.”

[That won’t happen. The determination will be made by politicians and government bureaucrats — in Washington. And Napolitano has already said it is the most secure that it has ever been.]

But, c’mon, you don’t want to deprive the elitists of their cheap servants and nannies, do you?

Problem with Palin is that she supported both Amnesty Liberals McCain and Flake in their Senate primaries....over candidates stronger on national security/border security and illegal aliens. In fact, her wishy washy views on National/Border Security are the only reason I do not vociferously support her more

The border must be secured AND the illegal aliens DEPORTED. Without the latter there is no former

I never see Republicans coming up with different approaches which put Dems in a bind. For example, demand that we first expedite to confer citizenship on all who have currently filed for legal citizenship. This both rewards those who abide by the law and is fairer in that it addresses immigrants from countries all around the globe.

What border? We actually still have one between the US and mexico anymore? I’m surprised to say the least. I thought is was just a path to amnesty for the poor, downtrodden mexicans who come here to do the jobs Americans won’t do, like pick produce, build houses, and traffic crystal meth, along with mocking gringos for their stupidity for letting them in to begin with.

I love when people bring up Senator John McCain as an error on Gov. Palin’s part. So you would refuse to endorse a man who plucked you out of the midst of 330 million people to make you the vice-presidential candidate of a major party two years later? Really?
