And McCain starts out by saying a small group of Senators imposing a limit on conferees (the insiders in the Senate-House conference) would just block the whole process.

Yeh, Johnny, that’s right. We’re $17 TRILLION in the HOLE. The process being stopped is EXACTLY what needs to happen.

Stop, LISTEN to what AMERICANS have to stay. You know, Johnny, the “little people” who pay taxes. I think Mr. Lee is trying to perhaps constrain you tools of international banking just a wee bit. Perhaps a few little constraints. Something. Anything.

Nope. Johnny and the insiders want it all. Their masters have a nice pieces of a bill that the conferees will get together and weld into a whole bill to present to the full houses of Congress.

Then Johnny will be yelling at Mr. Lee - VOTE FOR IT. You’re stopping the whole process !

Yet another demonstration of why he’ s not president. He ran against his own party and won. Only Palin saved him from a Mondalesque whupping. What did he get? 55-million votes? 10 million of those voters wouldn’t have crossed the street to shake his hand. I had intended to stay home in ‘08. I only voted for this fool because of Palin.

An example of how John McCain thinks Congress "works".

Allahpundit on HotAir has this to say:

"As is usually the case with McCain, the excessive nastiness in his criticism leaves you wondering how much of this is about policy and procedure and how much of it is driven by deeper personal dislike. ...." then linked to 11 minutes Ted Cruz's answer

"Here’s Cruz reveling in Maverick’s annoyance by answering his attack on Lee with an 11-minute speech, the highlight of which comes at around 6:00 with a reference to McCain’s now-infamous (and since apologized-for) dubbing of Cruz and Rand Paul as “wacko birds.” He’s going to have endless fun tweaking Mac during their time in the Senate together, isn’t he?"

Be sure to watch the video at link.

(Sorry I don't know how to just embed the video, also FR site might not like it.)

One of my favorite tweet exchanges:

Megan McCain the day after Mark Sanford won election: Another married politician who ran around on his wife.

Responder: Unless another married politician ran around on his wife, you wouldn't exist!

...Benedict Arnold once held the distinction of a war hero.

What makes that turd any more of a hero than any of the other POWs who came back and more heroic than those who were captured and died resisting. I met 3 former POWs over the years and mclaim couldn’t hold a candle to them.

Besides heroic actions are points in time and do not grant the mantle of forever worship and forgiveness for betraying the Constitution.

When he finally goes, bury him in Panama, maybe as an anchor in the canal. Better than defiling hallowed ground in this country.

We all might have been a bit better off if the NVA had kept his worthless ass.

McCain enlarges his circle of senatorial allies by luring innocent young boys like Linseed Graham into his sphere of influence.

Wait a minute. Wasn’t McCain the one who ran a couple of national elections based on being a straight talking maverick who’d built a career on shaking up the Senate?

Maybe he’s just jealous, like some old people get when they realize that the next generation is taking their place ...

Why is it that I never hear John McCain tear into the opposition party with the same relish that he does to his own party members?? Is it because he buys himself favorable publicity? To their “credit”, I never see the Dems ripping each other publicly to this extent; in other words, I can’t imagine senators from North Dakota, Montana or Arkansas privately tolerating Chuck Shumer for long - but I don’t see them giving him condescending lectures in front of the press. The FR commenter is right; McCain would have suffered a Mondale-type defeat unless he picked Palin as VP and he shows no gratitude whatsoever and never reprimands the failed campaign staffers who are always downing her. McCain was a very poor presidential pick by the GOP. I long for the days of Reagan.

I used to honor Senator McCain for his service and what he endured as a POW, but strip that away and what has he accomplished? He has abandoned conservatism and is a poster board for RINOs. In addition, his daughter is a disgrace to any true Republican. Sadly, it appears the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Hope the citizens of Arizona wake up and retire him before he further blackens his record as a Republican.

Well said!

“The problem, Senator McCain, is that we’re all too familiar with how congress works.”

Yep, you give some to get some and you steal from the American people in the process, you steal money, time, Liberty, Freedom and Life. And what everyou do, you don't let the American people see what you are doing.
