ABC Tries to Con America Into Believing that Sarah Palin Will Run for President
PoliticusUSA ^ | August 18, 2013 | Jason Easley

The mainstream media refuses to give it up. ABC News is trying to fool people into believing that Sarah Palin will be a presidential candidate. Check out this graphic and see it for yourself.

Before RNC Chairman Reince Priebus was interviewed on This Week, ABC aired a pre-recorded video package with the announcer saying at the end, “There’s no shortage of prospective Republican candidates, and that makes it even more challenging for the party to resolve its ideological divide.”

So let’s take a look at who ABC News thinks is a potential Republican presidential candidate:

Ted Cruz? Check.

Donald Trump? Seriously, ABC? Donald Trump?

Marco Rubio? Check.

Chris Christie? Check.

Rick Santorum? Check.

Rand Paul? Thanks to Jesse Benton, we already know that he is running.

Scott Walker? Check.

Nikki Haley? (ABC has to pretend that a woman might run on the Republican side, but we all know it is going be a Viagra festival.)

Paul Ryan? Looking more doubtful by the day, but check.

Wait a second. Who is that in the lower right hand corner?

Yep. ABC News listed Sarah Palin as a potential 2016 presidential candidate.

I guess it all depends on how one defines potential candidate, but I suspect that the odds are higher that Donald Trump will run for president before Sarah Palin ever does.

The lamestream media has got to stop helping Sarah Palin run her con game.

When her SarahPAC starts running low on cash, like clockwork Palin begins rumbling that she might run for some office. Few in the mainstream press seem to notice that Palin spends virtually none of the money that her PAC raises on promoting and donating to candidates. The vast majority of SarahPAC’s expenditures go towards funding Sarah Palin’s lifestyle.

Responsible media outlets need to stop furthering the illusion that Sarah Palin will ever run for anything again. Promoting Palin is just as irresponsible as promoting Donald Trump’s annual Apprentice promotional tour disguised as a presidential campaign. It is necessary to to discuss what Trump and Palin because they speak to the narrow minded bigots in the Republican Party, but the media can do so without feeding into their agenda of greed and personal financial gain.

Sarah Palin is a potential presidential candidate in the same way that the ghost of Ronald Reagan and Curt Schilling bloody sock are presidential candidates. In other words, she isn’t a potential presidential candidate. Alaska doesn’t want her. The nation doesn’t want her, and the media needs to stop bitterly clinging to the idea that washed up has been Sarah Palin has any kind of future in politics.

No matter how much the media keeps pushing the myth of a Palin comeback, it is never going to happen.

Well, you can add Scott Brown to the list. Just heard on the radio news that he may put his hat in the ring for 2016.

I wish FR would ban Steve Flesher who is the lead moderator and columnist for C4P.

He is a gay rights activist and using his support of Sarah Palin to gain support to overturn state constitution amendments supporting traditional marriage.

He runs the gay rights website gayconservative.org.

"I guess I am now a narrow minded bigot."

No, that's NewSpeak claptrap.

Push back and tell them you are a rule-of-law, logical thinker, supporter of the Constitution.

The LSM is none of those and worse.

Well, at least Tebow kept on playing, at any rate, when they would let him.

Palin lost my respect when she bailed on politics, became a not very successful commentator, and then took up a career implying that she might run for something, someday, somewhere....

If you can’t take the heat, etc. - and stop cluttering up the kitchen so that wishful thinkers actually believe you’re going to start cooking again.

This is just another lib puke having a hissy fit. He/she/it are right on one thing, though. I doubt Sarah Palin will run for public office again, at least as a candidate for the gop/’rat uniparty.

Why are we giving PoliticusUSA - a blog run by a Media Matters staffer - all these CLICKS, dammit?

Clicks? What clicks? I doubt that most people reading this thread bothered to click through to the source article. Why would we? To hear even more of what this anti-American Commie has to say?

Probably the very best thing Sarah Palin can do for Republicans is to somehow sabotage Hillary’s campaign. So the question becomes how can she do this?

By becoming the 45th President of the United States.

I hope Sarah does not run for pres in 2016. I hope and pray she is too busy being the Junior Senator from Alaska, after she sends Baggage packing.

It will be the nation's loss, but,we Alaskans need her in the Senate more than we need her to be President.

The president, when acting Constitutionally, can only propose, the legislature disposes.

YOU GO SARAH, KICK BEGICH'S A$$!!!!

While eventually a good thing, I truly don’t know if Sarah Palin is ruthless enough in the near future to do what is necessary.

Right now, I’m looking at some states that have either strong Republican majorities, or close to super-majorities in their legislatures, with strong Republican governors, as setting up a road map for an eventual Republican conservative takeover of Washington, both congress and the presidency.

As prerequisites to this, several key RINOs who would block such efforts need to be purged, with the help of the Tea Party. And then there would be the greatest pruning of government possibly in human history as the plan.

The lobbyists, big money corporations, and internationalists would be outraged by this “overturning of the apple cart”, and would fight it by any means possible.

And a truly hard part, once the massive pruning was done, then all three federal branches would have to have their powers strongly curtailed. About the only way for this to be done, which would last, would be a major restoration of federalism. Returning enormous amounts of power to the states at the expense of the national government.

Right now in the Republican dominated states, there have been truly bitter fights with Democrats who support the old order of waste and corruption. Such a fight at the federal level will be to an order of magnitude greater and meaner.

Personally, I ask who in the Republican party is up for such a brawl? Is Sarah Palin too willing to “go along to get along” with the current leadership, or would, when she had power, despise them?

If someone is truly revolutionary, which is what is needed, I doubt they would be so pragmatic as to ever agree to “play ball” with those who lack core values. Thus they would be outsiders right now. Who are they?

What do you mean “insulting to Sarah Palin??” Tim Tebow won the Heisman Trophy. They don’t give many of those out. And he led his team to the national championship.

If you consider State Politics to be analogous to College football, and Federal Politics to Pro football, then I stand by my analogy.
