Why Kristol symbolizes everything wrong w/GOP: Thinks Palin doesn’t have a future’ in U.S. politics

Bill Kristol once referred to himself as a “squish”

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Yet for some reason the GOP establishment holds Kristol in high regard when I think the man projects the intestinal fortitude of a sponge.

Kristol is what passes for masculine strength in today’s Republican Party. So it’s no wonder the Party has become a collection of cream puffs who have abandoned their conservative principles.

The only time the GOP shows some fight is when they attack conservatives. They never seem to muster that kind of moxie against Barack Obama and the Democrats. But, with conservative Republicans they become junkyard dogs.

So somebody must’ve gotten to Kristol to take Sarah Palin down a peg.

The Raw Story reports Republican political strategist and Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol appeared on “Morning Joe” Tuesday morning to walk back statements he made to ABC Online on Sunday regarding the political fortunes of erstwhile Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R). Whereas two days ago, Kristol said that Palin could “resurrect herself” politically by way of a run for U.S. Senate, Tuesday morning he was far less sanguine about her prospects, saying that she does not “have a future” in politics.

Kristol was one of Palin’s earliest advocates in the Republican Party, which he said in the Sunday interview, but added that her decision to quit the governorship in the middle of her first term was a poor choice for someone who hopes to secure a job in government.

However, he said, “I think the way Palin would possibly....

I don’t know many conservatives that take Bill Kristol seriously anymore. It’s been a long while since he lost his fastball!

Kristol's a neocon, with emphasis on 'con'.

Finally. Criticizing this fruit loop would've gotten you smeared as an anti-Semite or zotted not too long ago.

The damage has been done. Don't say you weren't warned.

What is she doing now? Is she running for anything? I don’t think she is. Could he just be expressing an opinion (poorly worded), instead of making a judgement call about her capabilities?

I got called on the carpet a few times for supposedly antisemitic remarks.

Pointing out that Joseph Sobran and Pat Buchanan sometimes had intelligent things to say is enough to get some folks riled up.

Calling someone a neoconservative, even someone who once self-labeled himself as a neoconservative, is enough to send some posters into a tizzy.

With regard to Iraq and Afghanistan: once again we learned from history that we don't learn from history. Why some folks think that is an antisemitic statement I can't fathom.

Palin stepped aside last time at the tip top.

She chose to spend four years with her new family.

Kudos to her for that. It’s special, and it’s nice.

Now in 2 more years, there will come a decision. Palin will at that point have a decision to make.

If she chooses to stand aside at that time, she’s not a factor.

However it’s not 2 years from today.

Keep the faith. :D

Relax.

Palin isn’t doing anything right now, except working at Fox and marking time.

The next race is at least one full year from now.

She’s got plenty to do right now. Living life.

Relax.

I always said that McCarthyism was a myth. I still believe that.

But what happened in Terrorized America 2001-2013 actually happened.

Ironically, Snowden is today's McCarthy.

Not to be snarky... but what exactly did she do for this country? She did a few things for Alaska.

Well, not to put too fine a point on it, Palin has a present in U.S. politics, and the degree to which the Establishment is in denial of this obvious fact astonishes me. This isn't hard. If she were as marginal as her critics insist, we wouldn't be having constant stories about how marginal she is.

As a candidate, we do not know, and were I advising her I'd tell her to pick her fight carefully. But one need not be a candidate to exhibit political potency.

She doesn’t hint at anything. She’s clear and direct, IMO. Surely you heard her say more than once, she loves Alaska and wants it for her kids and she doesn’t want a stuffy office in DC.

It’s peoples wanting her to run and some peoples fear that she may run- that is the problem. How many times does she have to say WeThePeople - we are so used to ‘one’ person doing the job - unless voters do their part - NOTHING will get done. This last election was proof voters do not get it - they voted for flavors and not substance - the same old thing and they want different results? They were used as fools by the GOP!

She supports the TeaParty - and came out to support their choices and they win. She’s in it with WeThePeople - she is just one American who is taking advantage of the national platform she has. She is a leader and wanted to keep the spirit alive - and many misread as her having an ambition to be president. She is over the top qualified to be so - but that is not her ambition. There is no one like her - because once a politician speaks out - that politicians want to run for something - she is NOT like that. They want something for themselves and NOT America. Everyone of them have turned against the Constitution to retain flavor with a certain group.

And, she listens to God and doesn’t do anything unless HE says to do it. God sees the hearts of many - they just want to be taken care of - when they should turn to HIM. If she is president there would be no reason why they should turn to HIM. In the end, that’s where you destiny lies - not in America. When people refuse to put their faith in HIM, why would he act for a people who lives in fear when He has said over and over - FEAR NOT. They don’t listen to HIM but expect HIM to answer their request in spite of their disobedience. The last election was based on NOTHING BUT FEAR - right from the get go! Fear is from satan and voters succumbed to his wishes and he got his way on America AGAIN and AGAIN.

IF God said to run, she would run - ‘Not my will but your will be done’. “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated ME first”. I know those here on FR who hate God. And how many in the GOP supported her? Barbara Bush said she should stay in Alaska and romney used his influence to have her trashed for years. Just 2 examples and there are many while on youtube there’s a clip of NEWT supporting her. How many didn’t want any part of NEWT in this last election and yet wanted change? Voters speak with fork tongue and clueless to boot!

Krystal is “GOP ESTABLISHMENT”. The establishment doesn’t want her. He got called onto the carpet for “endorsing” her. He had to come back and quench the fire for the Establishment.

Alaska isn’t part of AMERICA?

And saying a few things show how little you want to know. Stay there - it’s too late for you to be taught.

Did you forget those she supported/TeaParty candidates and they won in 2010? The IRS/obama administration remembers.

Stand aside from what??? Setting her up in your own mind, so you can continue your rant against her?

It’s another year at least until the race begins.

I am totally in the bag for Palin. I was supporting her right here in 2008.

Relax. :D

I wouldn’t attribute the Tea Party to Sarah Palin. Just what I expected. It’s “too late to teach me” because you really don’t have a response.

Not happening.

I challenge you to find “snarky posts” by this poster about Palin. Except for maybe a few, right around the time she decided to (not) run for the presidency in 2012.

And I wouldn’t even call those snarky. Just disappointed.

Go ahead. Take all the time you need.

You will not find those posts.

I’ll be around though, and to be honest would appreciate an apology once you realize you’re completely wrong.

Thanks.

It’s not that I don’t have a response but you already claimed she did little for Alaska while not even knowing what she did do. If you cared to know, you would.

Don’t attribute anything to her - who really gives a flip? It doesn’t change one thing.

You aren't worth the effort. You've been exposed on each and every thread of Sarah's you have been on for years and when exposed you always have the same comeback.

And you didn't answer the question....Stand aside from what??? If she chooses to stand aside at that time, she’s not a factor.

Put up or shut up, snark.

I’m not doing she did some good things for Alaska. And cleaned up some pretty significant corruption. Before she quit.

Nationally she’s had a lot of exposure, but hasn’t had the position to really make an impact.

She did more than clean up corruption for Alaska. Her life has been in service FOR America. She decided to leave for the betterment of Alaska as she couldn’t give her FULL attention to Alaska because of ‘this sudden rash of accusations where she beat every one of them in court’.

Before this she had 83% approval rating in Alaska before evil (through rinos and rats) showed it’s ugly face. And she’s still standing 25,000 emails scrutinized along withevery part of her life/her families life 24/7; yet, is STILL when SARAH speaks everyone listens. And you, who are nothing, say she didn’t make a significant impact? You simply have no idea what time we are in, where America is and what has been shown through Sarah to those with eyes that can see and ears that can hear.

You are going to caught off guard and learn the hard way. One day you will remember this when it is too late. For over 200 years, America has been the greatest nation and evil has been hell bent on taking her down and the fire has been turned up even greater now and could be because more and more have bowed at the altar of evil - and anyone who claimed loyalty TO America/Our Constitution have not done so. Betrayal after betrayal and I cannot recognize a one who is totally committed to it in DC any longer.

Besides Reagan, tell me just one politician who has made a good impact FOR America? And this last election, two bottom of the barrel candidates were running to lead America and each side giddy about their candidate winning? And they love America? While you are questioning what is so great about Sarah, it’s more like what’s so great about America because you can’t see goodness when it’s right in your face and it’s that mindset that has failed America. They want from America but have NO idea what is good for America because evil handed voters all it has - evil and they settle for it.

Sarah, like Reagan, represents goodness and evil tried it’s best 24/7 to expose some evil in what ‘some say is good’ and it failed!. Romney/Jeb/GOPe said the Reagan Era is over - that was a statement very few took seriously - it showed what is in their heart. Evil overcame goodness because voters believed the lies from the LIAR and fell to it’s manipulation. Voters aren’t even drawn to goodness as your post shows - they don’t even recognize it!! So they would never fight for it! Don’t concern yourself - you won’t get it.
