Oh my: McCain hinting at retirement in 2016?

Lindsey Graham’s reportedly polling under 50 percent in South Carolina and now here’s Maverick wondering aloud if this is his last rodeo in the Senate. Without the two of them around, who will speak for the dubious “pro-democracy” Sunni insurgents of tomorrow?

At long last, the day of rejoicing is at hand. Or is it?

[At this point two supporters of President Obama cut in to thank McCain for being on "our president's side for once in your life." McCain tells them, "The president and I, he's in his last term, I'm probably in mine, the relationship we have had over the past three years is quite good. Quite good."]

Is this really your last term?

Nah, I don’t know. I was trying to make a point. I have to decide in about two years so I don’t have to make a decision. I don’t want to be one of these old guys that should’ve shoved off.

What he decides will depend, I think, on whether the GOP spends the next two years trending towards Rand Paul’s version of a “modest” foreign policy. Incumbents often retire if it looks like their party, or their views within the party, are headed for a long spell in the wilderness. Maybe Maverick doesn’t want the aggravation of battling, and losing to, isolationists on the Senate floor. With McCain, though, I think he’d consider it his duty to stay and fight for interventionism, especially if the odds of Paul winning the nomination increase. He’d probably relish the opportunity to lead a band of hawks against the new semi-isolationist establishment, especially if President Rand is at the head of it....

It’s time. I will always honor McCain the Veteran for his military service and the hell he went through as a POW, but it is long past time for McCain the Politician to go into retirement.

He will merely return to space to gather power, returning once a century to attempt to destroy humanity.

Don’t waste time Johnny, those fish are biting right now, you might not make it to 2016. None of can foresee God’s plan. And besides if you retire this year just think of the Christmas present you will be giving to Conservatives.

He’ll do what most former members do and become a lobbyist and continue screwing America without the media looking over his shoulder.

He needs to retire while he still has a modicum of hero left in him. He’s looking more like Megan everyday.

I think it’s very unlikely that McCain is NOT involved in the Bengazi matter.

Maybe Miss Lindsay also..?

It’s long past time he went away. He is the poster child for term limits. When the Old Guard Republicans nominated him for president, everybody knew that it guaranteed Obama’s win. He was too old, too sick, and too liberal. Even Sarah Palin, with all her youth, energy and charisma, couldn’t drag his tired old carcass across the finish line.

John McCain will NOT be missed.

I thank him for his service, but I’m not sure he was EVER a good Senator. He certainly is NOT now.

McCain could retire now and I doubt too many people would be displeased. Certainly not conservatives.

McCain has destroyed the respect people have had because of his military service and his dreadful experiences as a POW. Today all we can see is his increasing liberalism and his collaboration with our enemies. He has lost touch with America. Time for him to step aside.

McCain's Senate career has been long and mediocre, short on accomplishment, devoid of lasting worth. He should have retired after his pathetic campaign in 2008. It would have been the right time, but like many over the hill self-appointed big shots, he couldn't see it.

We can only hope . . . . . . . and pray . . . . . . . . and vote as many times (or more) than the Dems to replace them with ANY Tea Party candidate!!

His wife owns the beer monopoly for the Southwest or something and he has both his Navy and Congressional pensions, including a Rolls-Royce completely free medical and dental plan for himself and his family. He doesn’t need another dime.
