(CNN) -- ...The weaknesses of both men—Cruz in terms of his style and Paul in terms of his rhetoric—point out how desperate the GOP is to find someone who can build a broad coalition, something that is essential for a presidential victory, particularly when Republicans will likely be facing a formidable candidate.
The problems of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie have been a huge blow to the party, and there are not many alternatives at this point who are willing to run to replace a figure who, in terms of style of governance and rhetoric, would have a better chance of appealing to voters beyond the base. This is the reason former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is getting so much buzz, as potentially the only other person who can fill this void.
If Republicans can't find some alternative and the primaries revolve around the tension between Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, Democrats will be in excellent position to retain the White House in 2016.

Right now my big issue against Paul is that he has already come out against conservatism and is making his argument for changing the GOP into a more liberal, pro-homosexual marriage, party.
Anyone who thinks running another Bush in 2016 is a good idea is either an idiot or has ulterior motives.
Cruz has also been a master of the filibuster, employing variations of the tactic to bring the Senate to a standstill.

I’m sorry, but it will take some extreme situation, or a miracle from God, for me to ever vote for Rand Paul after he has endorsed Mitch McConnell in the GOP Primary in KY.

I could not agree more. I’ve said, for months, that if we ever hope to win the White House again, we better have someone with a Hispanic surname on the ballot.
Instead, he seemed to wave the flag and back of the Obama/McCain Doctirne. That's what Romney did on Benghazi, and it just might be what cause him the election.
Is there ANYONE under 70 years old who has enough experience and historical knowledge to get it right? Maybe we could dust off Dan Quayle....I'm not kidding. Or maybe Jeff Sessions?

Sarah Palin “gets it right” most of the time. But, the media has so demonized her..... What about Allen West?
I thought he supported the Trayvon Martin supporters. And I believe he voted for those bogus "reparations" to the descendents of black farmers. Besides that, if he can't win an admittedly gerrymandered HOR seat in FL, he's not an exceptional vote getter.
And may I be honest? People might not say it in polls, but I'm not sure we have the stomach for another black president. At least, not for several decades. Allen West could change my mind, by proving himself in the US Senate for instance.
I’ve thought the same thing. I’m not so sure that America is ready for another Black President. My cousin told me that, if we ever get Obama out of the White House, she would never vote for another Black man.
Well there went my candidates, they are the ones i wanted to vote on but if the liberals say they are weak then i guess we better pick some one else, duh.
Barry Benghazi's problem isn't lack of experience. His problem is a downright evil policy agenda. He's quite successful at destroying America. His disastrous foreign policies, monetary policies, tax policies, environmental policies, and his crown jewel: 0bamacare, do not represent failure on his part. Quite the contrary. The destruction is going according to plan.
So ... I'm not at all concerned about Ted Cruz's or Rand Paul's supposed lack of experience. I'm much more interested in their pro-America, conservative, constitutionalist policies and agendas. Experience can be gained.
