Sarah Palin Challenge Hillary for President?
WebProNews ^ | April 24, 2014 | Mike Tuttle

Posted on 04/24/2014 8:47:09 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin is a firebrand. She was the darling of the political Right during the 2008 race for President of the U.S. Interestingly, she wasn’t even running for President. John McCain was. But she took the Repub blogosphere, and the mainstream press, by storm with her good looks, designer glasses, and folksy chatter.

Democrats were insulted by her, particularly women. They saw McCain’s choice of Palin as his running mate to be a calculated move intended to woo women who might be sore that Hillary Clinton lost her Dem primary battle to Barack Obama.

Yard signs went up declaring support, not just for McCain, but for “Sarah!”, as the signs read. There were two disastrous interviews that Palin never recovered from, and the McCain campaign went down in flames.

But Palin herself was not to be cowed. She quit her job as Governor of Alaska, started a reality TV show, and took to Facebook. For a woman who has never completed a term of any office higher than mayor, she has the ear of Conservative America, particularly the Tea Party faction, like no one else. Michelle Bachmann steps aside when Sarah breezes into town.

Last year, Palin mused about the idea of running for U.S. Senate, telling Sean Hannity that she will wait and see how the race sizes up, deciding whether there are any more than the usual slate of candidates.

Rumor has it that the upcoming midterm elections, as well as the 2016 general, will be The Year of the Woman. Dems see Hillary as the heir apparent. Some of them greatly regret that she did not get their vote in 2008. But the Republicans are looking around, as well, for a female champion among their number.

@SarahPalinUSA Please run for President. Run in
2016 or the media , the GOPestablishment, and
the Clintons win. #RunSarahRun #Palin2016

Jeff Iaconis @jiaconis

It's not to late to see President Palin in 2016...
Run Sarah Run!!! Imagine a Palin/West
ticket. Making America Great Again...

2:25 PM - 23 Apr 2014 San Jose, CA, United States

Sarah Palin herself is quoted as saying, “I’ll never say never” to a presidential run. It depends on what “Americans really, really want in a candidate.”

Gary P Jackson @gary4205

@americassage New poll has Palin as top
"non-Hillary" candidate and Hillary will be easy
to beat in 2016 @CoolChange80 @iowemysoul

8:57 PM - 17 Apr 2014

Could we see those “Sarah!” yard signs getting pulled back out and planted in the front yards of the hopeful? It could be an economical move for a budding Palin campaign.

The operative factors here are: Mike Tuttle is an idiot, Sarah Palin is not.

Gov. Palin had NOTHING to do with Senator McCain losing in 2008, just the opposite.

I can tell you that in the county GOP office where I volunteered, we couldn't even beg people to take lawn signs before Sarah was named to the ticket. After that, they flew out as fast as we got new shipments in.

Our county, which voted narrowly for Walter Mondale in the Reagan landslide of 1984, voted for the McCain-Palin ticket by nearly a 3-2 margin. And it wasn't because of McCain.

She would beat Hillary in a landslide.

IF she ran.

I'd like to see our brilliant Texas Senator Ted Cruz as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He's young and will be able to serve for years, undoing Roe v. Wade and other crimes imposed by the radical leftists of years past.

As for the Presidential ticket for 2016, I'll stick with the team that I've long endorsed here on Free Republic:

Palin/Gohmert: 2016 - A winning combination!

My list has shrunk a bit. Cruz, obviously. Palin without question. But Rand seems to be determined to self destruct. Palin is a political genius, and if anyone doubts that start adding up all of the new reps and senators who owe her for putting them in office. Cruz is on that list. Her coalition will be rock-solid and permanently in her corner.

I value her influence and moral inspiration, but a Presidential run for Sarah in 2016? No. Not now, maybe in eight to ten years, enough time to reintroduce and reinvent public style. But for now, I’m. not buying a ticket on this Spinning Teacups Ride. I’m still recovering from the sudden whiplash stop from 2012.

I think she’d be a fantastic POTUS - in fact I believe the reason they trashed her so mercilessly is that they knew from her term as governor that she’d destroy the establishment gravy trains - both left and right. Of course this would thrill We the People beyond comprehension.

But this is my opinion and too many powerful people are against her. A couple of weeks ago when Ryan came out with his budget that Sarah criticized for being too slow to take effect, some older supposedly serious intellectual guy on FOX said with a snort - “Sarah Palin can’t hold a pencil to Paul Ryan”. Odd...seemed to me she had a point. But immediately she was dismissed as an idiot by the panelists.

As wrong as it was, it would be incredibly difficult to overcome what was done to her reputation.

The gov hasn’t been tried and failed, she’s been considered too hard and not tried.

She won’t run. And if she does run, she won’t win. There are at least half a dozen Republicans who want it more than she does and they’ll destroy her in the primaries.

Truth is that if a person has no machine in place by now, they will not be able to run successfully. Without big money suppliers they are doomed to lose.

Remember 2012, many tried but ran out of cash.

I go to google to try and find that cartoon of Sarah Palin’s “Executive Experience” shoes from 2008 and I must say, there were literally hundreds of very HATEFUL anti-Palin editorial cartoons published. So, I decide to look for some about Hillary...very few.
