Nope. She’s a grifter, only in it for the money.
I think we have a better field this time around. However, I would love for Palin to set up a third party line that would only be actively promoted if Bush-christie-romney gets the nomination.
I hope not. After her “jump the shark” comment about baptizing people by waterboarding them, she’s off my list. It was a stupid, cruel and anti-Christian thing to say.
After she resigned the governorship, I always thought Palin was all about Palin, especially once she got into being a radio personality. But this was mean and just plain dumb, and I certainly wouldn’t even consider voting for her now.
I don’t believe there are enough people of integrity left in America to elect Palin.
Did Palin ever explain why she endorsed McCain in 2010? I don’t remember reading that.
Comments?
Palin’s forte is best used from a non elective position.
Hope she’s serious.
GO Sarah!
I’ll vote Palin. First choice, actually. Followed by Cruz. Then maybe two or three unlikely long-shots, like Gohmert or Lee. But that’s about it.
Otherwise, I’m not going to bother with the GOP nominee. I no longer have any trust in the Party whatsoever. Watching them cave on everything from amnesty to spending to social issues, the GOP obviously no longer shares my views. I left my presidential ballot blank in 2012, and I’ll do so again in 2016.
About helping movement conservatives and tea party candidates win primaries (and general elections where she can assist), yes. About running for President or any other office in 2016, almost certainly not.
In the current environment Sarah Palin couldn't win a presidential general election and she knows it. If the economy collapses or something else very dramatic along those lines occurs, then all bets are off - anyone could emerge at that point.
Conventional wisdom says Palin is politically dead, but things change and she is still young. If, as a nation, we suffer some calamity and the public turns on the press (unlikely but possible), a person like Sarah Palin could certainly re-emerge as a contender.
Better question: Are Republicans and conservatives serious about 2016?
No. No one who is serious about winning a nationwide election would have made the comment about baptism by torture. At this point, she is pandering to her fan base and nothing more.
At some point, she seems to have realized that several factors, including the decision she made to quit as governor of Alaska sunk her chances of higher office.
Before anyone decides to try to school me on why she "really" quit, consider this: if she couldn't figure a way out of the issues she was having in Alaska, she doesn't qualify for the presidency. The problems America faces are huge, seemingly intractable, and don't just go away.
Sarah Palin got 2% in the CPAC straw poll last month - not the numbers someone so well-known would need to even think of taking to donors to finance a run for the presidency.
Would love to see Sarah Palin run. She has a unique perspective on problem solving that cuts through all the malarkey.
Her best chance to run was in 2012, and we needed her to run then to make sure a conservative could take out Romney, but instead she sat out and handed the nomination to him. I used to like Sarah and I still agree with her on the issues, but that constant teasing of: will I run or won’t I run? and then backing out really hurt any Presidental chances she may have had. I really hope Cruz runs he’s been taking a lot of flack lately, if he doesn’t run I’ll be upset with him like I was with Palin.
Is she serious about the Republicans winning the White House? Yes. Is she serious about running herself? No.
No. I don’t think, sadly.
I do think she teases the idea, not to frustrate conservatives who want her to run, but to make the liberals flip out. She has a lot of power over them and she uses it.
Last time around, I was upset that she teased then bowed out. This time I’m going to enjoy her titillating the main steam media morons, with no expectations on my part. Then if she really does run, it will be a sweet surprise.
