Luck has run out for Las Vegas’ push to bring the Republican Party’s next presidential nominating convention to Sin City. Cincinnati also has withdrawn from the list of possible hosts.

Republican National Committee officials voted on Thursday to approve four remaining contenders and planned to soon visit Dallas, Denver, Cleveland, and Kansas City, Missouri. Officials expect to narrow the field by this summer. …

Kansas City can recreate its 1976 Convention anniversary of Reagan's challenge to the establishment candidate Gerald Ford!

Reagan's wonderful message of freedom and liberty for Americans and small government, need repeating.

Forgot to mention, 2016 nears the 100th anniversary of dedication of the world’s only memorial to World War I, the Liberty Memorial, in Kansas City, and we’re the City of Fountains bested only by Florence, Italy.

Reagan’s 1984 convention was in Dallas.”

But that was before we had global warming. I would love to see them come to Dallas. But if they are coming to Texas, I think they should have the convention in Brownsville or El Paso and we can truck them across the border without any security guards for a little nightlife so the Mexicans and cartels can show them all a “little love” up close and personal.

The GOPe should hold their convention in East St. Louis.

The delegates would need accommodation, but there don't seem to be a lot of hotels in East St. Louis, for some strange reason.

They get the added benefit of having "Honkey Lips" spray-painted on their cars.

Well there will no hurricanes in Cleveland plus they can pitch Ohio and Michigan and visit the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

There is no need for the GOP to have their convention in Dallas. They will win TX by double digit points.

They need Ohio and need it bad and the entire state holds on keeping the Vote in Cuyahoga County to come in with a Dem lead of less than 250,000 and the best way for that to happen is big Republican buzz in the Cleveland/Cuyahoga Market.

I would predict KC or Cleveland. The Republicans must connect with the Great Lakes and Mid-West States and to run off to the West in CO or back home to the big D is simply silly and a wasted opportunity.

Detroit....

Strong 2nd Amendment city with the current Police Chief and the turn around should be in full stride by then...

It would be a great opportunity for the E-GOP to reach out to Detroiter's but I ain't holding my breath on that one given the Stupid Parties propensity to drop the ball...

But that maybe to much of a coincidence considering one or more candidates from that State may be on the ticket...:-)

I like your idea but can we make it Laredo? After all, the Zetas have used RPGs in Nuevo Laredo plus the occasional beheading.

You betcha we can! Don’t know how I could have forgotten Laredo. We can probably hustle up a group to play and sing the Streets of Laredo song just for their entertainment too.

If they were gonna do Ohio then Cincy (with it’s measurable Republican presence) makes more sense than Cleveland.

Every potential delegate is now bummed that Vegas is off the list. Probably a good thing though, we wouldn’t some prominent official to get caught passed out in a strip club.
