CURL: 1%: Hillary is 2016’s Mitt Romney
The Washington Times ^ | June 22, 2014 | Joseph Curl

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Hillary Clinton is, without question, a smart lady. She has been a senator and secretary of state, after all. So no dummy, she.

But is she smart enough to not run for president in 2016?

She was beaten handily in 2008 by a first-term senator named Barack despite the feared Clinton Rolodex of party high rollers. And while her favorability rating has risen steadily, especially since she left the public eye early this year, millions and millions of Americans who opposed her in 2008 — Republican and Democrat — are still out there.

Things are off to a terrible start. Has there ever been a more disastrous rollout of a presidential candidate than Hillary’s this past month? She couldn’t answer what she’d do in Iraq. She was caught in a lie about her health — outed by her own husband. Then she said they were “dead broke” when they came out of the White House (they had two houses worth at least $5 million). On Saturday, she said she and Bubba are not “truly well off,” despite Bill’s $100 million bankroll.

Worse, her 656-page book has been roundly panned — even by liberal outlets like The Washington Post. Some critics found it boring, staid, cautious, defensive. First-week book sales were dismal: 85,721. (Sarah Palin’s first week book sales: 467,604.)

Still worse, questions about her health continue to swirl....

The 47% are the welfare moms, the massive amount of LEGAL immigrants that have come here, the low info voters, liberals on the east & west coasts, most black voters, over 60% of hispanic voters & most asians who now vote democrat.

Let's see.. The GOP plan to gain any and all of those votes is to be not quite as liberal as the Democrat. This plan has been successful in nearly zero actual contests. Welfare Moms don't want illegals hogging up all the freebies, 'Hispanics' don't want the illegals, period, and would dearly love to go into a store and not have a sales person immediately say 'I'll get someone who speaks Spanish - one momento, si habla espanol.' Asians are far more conservative than anyone is giving them credit for; their voting numbers are skewed because they're mostly avoiding the polls.

Black voters are the reason why battles at the ballot box for gays calling themselves married was utterly abandoned.

That 47% only exists because the GOP constantly abandons the conservative corner in the spirit of bipartisanship. When was the last time a liberal compromised on anything? OH, right, all the time, as they 'compromise' by not quite getting everything they want immediately.

Strange post considering the context of our exchange.

Romney lost because he was too liberal and depressed the republican vote, while winning the Independents.

And, all of these group vote democrat more & more every year. Asians do indeed vote democrat whereas in the 80s they voted for the GOP. To put it bluntly: they ain’t buying what we are selling no matter what member of the GOP speaks.

We are losing our voting demographic. That’s my point. Romney got more white votes than Reagan did. My contention is simple: we can have the best ideas & the best people, but if we lack the raw numbers....we lose. Every time. Nevada is now a blue state, It’s just a matter of time until Texas turns blue....why, new voters who don’t share our vision.

Well, that’s true, the media is killing the GOP. That does not help things. Even with the internet, the main stream media still controls the message.

She was quite successful in squashing the bimbo eruption against her philandering husband.

Oh, you're talking about Hillary's private war on women.

I understand your point, but that isn’t why Mitt Romney lost.

Romney lost because he killed turnout, for instance coming out as pro-abortion and reaffirming his pro-gay Scout leader positions after he won the nomination, and running pro-choice ads in Ohio and Virginia and Wisconsin, and losing all three states.

His problems were him, the man who had won a single election in his 20 year career, and that one with less than 50% of the vote. Romney is a walking talking disaster of a man.

It’s not just the media. The GOPe sounds more and more like the democrats every day because, like you, they too believe the demographic is changing and they want to be democrats to get votes.

How did that work out for Mr. Eric Cantor? His opponent, David Brat, made it clear. He ran on the traditional republican ticket and he won and Lord willing, he will win in November. If the republicans stick to the more conservative principles of its own platform, they can win. When given the choice between socialist and socialist-lite, the voters go for the real thing every time.

Uniparty ideas turn people off, especially conservatives. Even if the demographics are changing there are reasons conservative ideas work and liberal ideas don’t. We should focus on explaining that. Plus we have a history proving that case. Unfortunately too many republicans would rather run off and become democrats with ‘r’ next to their names because, the demographics are changing. Either they don’t understand the conservative principles they are supposed to stand for or they are just democrats pretending to be republicans.

Amazingly the GOP had the black vote at one time. But the Dems eventually convinced the blacks that the GOP was racist. And that coincided with blacks becoming racists themselves! A double whammy.

The demographics are changing.....fast. That’s just a fact. I agree that the GOP should go right. They should also become more populist. Less Wall St, more Main St. They should also come out, hard, against illegal immigration. That would help....but it’s a finger in the dike as millions pour into the States in an endless chain of third world immigration. The GOP needs to cut legal immigration way down. I suspect they don’t have the guts to do that.

There are about 50 million more people today than in 1980 too so that’s not entirely a shock.

There is ‘some’ truth to the Demo/destiny argument. But taken to conclusion it’s a purely racial argument (not in the racist!!!! sense). If DD is true, then the Cubans in Miami love Castro communists because hispanics have to vote for leftists and white people must vote Republican and are doomed to dance funny at weddings eternally. We know neither is the case. Well, maybe the wedding part... Raise a Mexican kid in a right wing household of any color but white and his chances for being a rabid leftist are equal to his lily white neighbor’s kid from another right wing household.

Today the D/D thing comes down to propaganda and a refusal of the right to stand for anything. The dems at least stand for corruption and bribing minorities. Put Bhoner and Cruz on a stage. Do they agree on anything? No by and large. So we cannot overcome a united Dem propaganda offensive targeting minorities pr anyone else.

There is a reason that minorities don’t vote R and it isn’t solely because many enlisted in the Democrat sponsored free sxit Army. And it is the exact same reason most of my Millenials will never vote R. they don’t trust them any further than they can throw them. Not because of the TV news. But because they aren’t blind or deaf. They heard parents. They saw the flip flops. The mixed messaging doesn’t cut it for them anymore than it does for most of us.

Want to overcome the Dem FSA? It’s a rough road. But it’s one that begins with people one can trust. Minorities and millenials have one thing in common. No alternatives. Give them one and ‘change’ begins.

that said, I fully grasp that the free sxit Army isn’t shrinking, it’d growing. I get that some will ride the train no matter if Christ campaigns for President personally. But nothing changes as long as we mirror leftism in our candidates. there is no reason for an FSA soldier to ever do anything different if there is nothing different presented. there is no chance of a normal minority or young person to leave the lib rez as long as they have a choice of suck or suck.

As I said. Some never will. We only need ‘enough’. Then the FSA can either get on this train or do without entirely.

The democrats own the “culture wars”. They dictate how the media shapes what the GOP is. We are a center-left nation.

If we could ever get a hold of this massive influx of legal & illegal immigrants I suspect things could turn around over time. But with millions coming in, every year, and with many of those millions being poor & uneducated, well, it makes them perfect dupes for the left.

They don’t want to do that because they believe the demographics are changing and they think the only way to manage that is turn into democrats. They won’t go with less Wall St. because they think money is more important than people to get elected.

I agree that putting the US citizen and the nation’s sovereignty first would do very well with the people and would gain votes, but Wall St. won’t financially support candidates who put the people ahead of their bottom line. So some of those candidates will have to lose before people realize it’s the people who vote, not money.

Agree completely. Ultimately I think there is a problem on the horizon no one mentions or discusses much. The millennials and minorities are starting to feel the screws turning themselves. And they aren’t as tolerant as we are about a lot of things. Because the left programmed them to be very self centered. Now I am speaking generally here.

I use this example semi often and it seems off track but think about it in a broader sense.

Video games/Guns.

What is the hands down most popular games out there? First person shooter stuff like Call of Duty. All those kids/younger people LOVE those games. Many older guys too but for now, lets talk the young voters and soon to be voters.

For decades now, the left has ramped up anti gun/guns are satan propaganda. they have spent hundreds of millions to make every grade schooler with a pop tart fear eating it wrong because if someone thinks it resembles a Glock, hes toast. And what does that kid do? Goes home and games. Probably with an older kid on COD or another shooter with guns.

They LOVE their virtual guns. they don’t fear them. Gun sales are record setting your after year. Who bought them?

yup. Gamers. Nor exclusively of course. But a LOT of them.

My point? They broke the leftist programming. Why? They don’t care what the left wants. If Tipper and the PMRC were back, they wouldn’t care about that either. Or if a GOPer was pushing simmilar bans, they are going to do what they like. Because they were TRAINED to do what they like.

By the left. Who is already losing control. Hipsters don’t read cig/Alcohol warning labels. And they are hard left. Or are they entirely? No, they are hard left when it’s cool to be and a lot like us when they think the cigs or whatever the left hates is cool too.

Extrapolate that out a bit and the reasons behind them. I think the left is in for a surprise. Not that there are 50 million young Reagans in training, but neither 50 million Bill Ayers clones.

And they arent buying all the leftist crap.
